    no i havent tryed that but i will need to use his chip anyway, and that would mean stripping down my comp after i have just cured a problem with mine (after black ops prep lol)
    there is clearly a problem with this motherboard and i doubt he will want to keep bring it back to me to sort...
    i think it will be best to dump this gigabyte one and be on the safe and hassle free side of just buying a new board...

    If it's still under warrenty you can contact GB and see if you can have it ficed/replaced.

    Sorry to hear about this!

    Yes, it would still be under warranty, so you could RMA it and have it replaced, then sell later or use as a spare if you wanted.

    thanks for all the replys and time. also lsd for your pm's. the board is comin on 2years old now so i dont think it will be warrenty. my mate has just ordered the same board as my new one....

    Warantee on all Gigabyte boards is three (3) years. Contact them on the web or call 01908 362700 .

    Even if there was a 1 year warranty, you're still covered by the UK Sale of Goods Act 1979. The act states that goods should last a "reasonable" amount of time before wearing out/becoming defective. The actual "reasonable" amount of time varies depending on price paid, product type etc, but 1 year is definitely not "reasonable". Gigabyte or the place of purchase is required to comply with this act regarding any of their products as long as it was bought in the UK.
