Default New build windows not booting

Hi. I recently fitted an asus mobo onto my comp from a gigabyte so i could overclock a little higher. So i fitted the gigabyte ep43-ds3 board into my mates computer and i cant seem to run the windows instalation disk.

So i installed windows onto his hard drive via my computer and all is well. plugged his hdd back into his comp with the ep43-ds3 mobo that he had off me and it crashes as soon as as the "windows is starting" comes up.

So i tryed updating the bios via Qflash to see if that helped. It said that the bios update was completed so i restart and it says there a bios error and recovers itself back to the origanal bios.

What do you think the problem is?

    Thanks
    Paul

There is a procedure for replacing a motherboard.
How to replace the motherboard on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000

But what reason is the MB problem booting from the installation disk?

you cant install windows on one pc then use it on a different pc unless the mb's are identical make/model ect,due to all the mb drivers/components being different
try disabling floppy drives and drive a from the bios and try installing it

Are you using proper Windows installation disks or "restore disks"?

yer im using a proper windows disk.
but even with the blank hdd the windows boot up disks it sticks at the "starting windows".

the disk works fine as is genuine but its not running with this build.

im pretty sure i disabled the floppy. i will double check.

entering the mobo bios works fine. but when updating bios it successfully completes but on reboot it says error and recovers factory bios.

put back in the windows disk after installation and do a start up repair,do it a few times to fully repair the start up,then try

so after youve installed windows and it freezes at windows screen, put the windows cd back in and boot from dvd drive and let it load and run start up repair
