the h67's colour schemes look alot better imo, nice to see more usb/sata3 ports too,i wonder if theyve done away with robbing bandwidth from the pci-e slots when usb3/sata3 enabled?

So does the P67A-UD7 have a NF200 chip since it can do 2x16? The UD5 can only do 2x8.

By the way, I love the black/gold/silver color scheme. If EK comes out with a 1156 mount for their Supreme HF, my gold block will blend in quite nicely. :)

I think an NF200 chip is used, but not sure, I'll ask and see if I can find out for you.

I don't really like the black at all, it would be nice if they at least made the memory and PCI/PCIE slots baby blue, then it would be a little more acceptable.

The bad thing about black PCB is, in real life it's never as black as you see in images, it always looks ugly brown actually due to the copper traces.

I haven't seen these up close yet, hopefully Gigabyte got around that, and I really hope they don't continue this color scheme into socket 2011.

when will gigabyte implement uefi? ive already seen a asus sandy bridge mb video with it,supporting mouse and keyboard inside the bios screens and clock graphs for cpu speed ect,a feature which i liked was the drag n drop hdd boot priority

what will happen to gigabytes patented dual bios when uefi becomes mainstream? ohh and will anyone really need an ssd when uefi is out? ive heard boot times of 1.23 seconds

EDIT ive just noticed no ide ports on any of the new mb's? thats a shame

That's the problem with aesthetics, you can't please everyone.

To tell you the truth, I'm not particularly excited about Sandy-Bridge. The idea of HAVING to buy a K series to overclock and having next to zero Bclk tuning really turns me off. I'll see what Bulldozer develops like before even thinking of going near such an OC unfriendly, locked down platform.

UFEI doesn't cut OS load times, it cuts POST and has a more efficient hand off than BIOS to OS does. Any speed reductions mean in the POST and hand off phase, not actual OS file loading. To speed loading time it'd need a large amount of FLASH to cache the OS, and this would be both expensive and way way slower than any decent SSD. Most SSD-s have 8-16 channels or more, IE each flash chip or pair of chips is read/written at the same time, where as if there was a FLASH cache on a motherboard, they'd likely use a single 4GB flash IC, meaning you'd see USB FLASH drive type performance rather than SSD speeds.

What are the chances of Gigabyte, or other MB manufacturers for that matter, being able to incorporate the series 6 chipset with a 1366 socket with 6 dimms for triple channel?

    Zero chance.

The chipset lacks several essential components for socket 1366 CPU's. It doesn't utilize the QPI in the same way, it has no PCIe related hardware and the clock generator has been moved to the CPU die rather than being on the board.

Why would you want that any way? P67 is the P55/H55/H57 replacement, it's mid end, not top end like 1366.

    New does not mean better.

There will be a new top end platform, but it has nothing to do with these boards and the chipset used.
