Default Requesting RAM advice for X58A-UDR3, using an Intel core i7-950

Hello all, this is my first post to TweakTown. I am currently building a new system for the purpose of being my new work computer. My primary use for this computer will be 3d modeling and rendering, using Maya. It isn't my first build, but it is the first build I have done in which I am hand-picking each component.

    Anyway, on to my dilemma:
At the heart of my system are going to be the X58A-UDR3 2.0, and the Intel Core i7-950.
I'm trying to figure out what RAM will be the most to my advantage here. I have done a whole lot of research trying to find which RAM will be the most compatible, and have resorted to posting here to get the ultimate answer.

As a result of my research, I have come to the conclusion that for what I am able to pay, it would be in my best interest to use DDR3 1600 Triple Channel RAM.

I have read two totally different statements that the X58-UDR3 does and doesn't support RAM running at 1600. I can't seem to find the bottom line on this. IF it does support it, I have been considering purchasing the G. SKILL F3-12800CL8T. (Newegg.com - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8T-6GBRM)

My question to you: is this a viable option for me? And if it is, how exactly would I tweak the settings in the BIOS to have this RAM run at 1600. (Including changing any settings regarding CPU clocking and voltages as well as RAM clocking and voltages.)

I know this is a lot to ask, and I have tried to figure this out on my own but I just can't seem to find an absolute answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

with the bios settings when not overclocking the cpu i just use the profile1 for the ram, when overclocking i enter the timings and voltage manually.
