I would go to stock settings to investigate the high temps.
If you can't have 1333 CL6 with stock FSB try 1066 with CL5.
I wouldn't call 72f toasty, the thermal solution shold be fine at stock at ambiant temps up to 38c(100f).

EDIT: BTW if you do not intend to increase vcore you may want to use normal instead(with or without LLC), you may be able to use the power saving features of the CPU which is not possible when you set the value manually.

So I ended up replacing the stock heatsink and was able to drop the temps to what sound like reasonable numbers - 37-39 at idle and 53-57 under Prime95 (in addition to being a little quieter). Signature has been updated with latest h/w change.

Ran P95 for 13 hours last night and no failures. Before replacing the cooler, I had noticed a sporadic hang (screen freeze, system lock up) while playing a video game for a couple hours. Since the Tracer RAM is passing the stress test, I think I am going to run some video stress tests to see if the video card is okay with the current set up.

As for the Gold DIMMs, I think I now have enough info to contact Crucial and try to plan an RMA for at least those two Gold DIMMs, possibly all four to get a matched set.

Chike: With respect to your last post, would "Normal" mean reverting the CPU Vcore auto? I can play around with some of the settings to see if I can get some of the auto settings to work. Some energy conservation wouldn't be a bad thing, as long as the rest of the settings (i.e. how the RAM is affected) don't need to be changed.

Thanks again for the help! I may be back on the forum if and when the replacement DIMMs come and I need help getting them all to work together.

    Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Glad to see that you're making progress.
Be sure to ask Crucial tech support if they will send you new Tracer modules modules to match your current working Tracers.
Let us know how you make out once you have your 8GB of memory installed.

"Normal" might not be a bios option with your motherboard.
AUTO is OK if you're not overclocking your cpu, but my preference is to set CPU Voltage to the stock cpu VID at near stock cpu speeds.

"Normal" will set the vcore to the same value as displayed on the left, just as if you select it as in your post #27, with the addition of enabling the vcore to be automatically lowered when the CPU is idle if C1E and EIST enabled. Unlike auto, normal would not change vcore when overclocking.
Normal is the option just below auto.
If you choose normal, disable C1E and EIST first to test stability, and then enable them and test stability again.
LLC(Load Line Callibration) compensate for vdroop (the difference between idle and load voltage).
