Let us know how it turns out with another PSU.

Generic one may not be the way to go, but if that's all you plan to buy since you are passing this one along it maybe fine if you can find one that works :)

I had an Antec neopower 650 with a problem from birth. If you plugged in (cable managed psu) a 6 pin pcie cable then that worked, but not HDD power cables. I never did get around to returning it. Used a second jumpered power supply for hd-drive power.

Changed cases in case there was a short somewhere.

Meanwhile a "friend" told me I'd obviously blown a capacitor when changing the psu's over through not wearing a wristband, tut, tut.

Thank the power of Murphy's law though, after my effort, it BOOTED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.

(32C in my office. Don't go outside - it's a scorcher!) Otherwise very happy to find it will be worth buying a new PSU.

Hi,i just have to tell you, that i have same problem sometimes.I have EP43T-USB3 with Q9550 and reboot loops appears just once a day/week.Only way to boot without waiting for few loops is to shut it down, wait until all fans and discs stops and than start.Than it works for me.Maybe it would help ya,maybe not.Loops are even at optimalized BIOS settings, not just OC one. So it's fixed now then?

If so what was the problem, PSU or not?

I think so, even if I did change cases. My reason for thinking that is that voltages as read by hardware monitor are much closer to the nominal volts. So far no more continuous beeps or boot loops. Fingers crossed.

    I spoke too soon.

Because I was having no problems I bought another PSU, a "Cooler Power" 550W, with a logo and colour scheme that looks decidedly Cooler Master, "Intel and AMD recommended", "80 plus", "SLI", "RoHS". I got it home and found it had no 6 pin pcie plugs. "SLI" ???? Oh well, I've got a Thermaltake 5.25" bay VGA PSU so I think, "I'll use that." I put it together tonight. Nothing but trouble. The boot loops and the continuous beeps reappeared. It did start once. As soon as I restarted it, beeps again. Take out a stick of ram. Reboot into bios. Red overclock failure warning, except there was no overclock!! Exactly what it was doing with the Antec 550W, but not with my Son's Cooler Master 700W. It's only got a 9800GTX+.....

In tonight's arrangement the GPU was independently powered, (but there's an interrupt cable for the mobo plug and psu plug with green and black wires to the vga psu to tell it when to be on.)

Alright. I put the two PSU solution back where the HDD is independently powered by a separate PSU (See post #12 above) sitting messily on top outside of the case. Back to no problems. I'm glad this is not my main machine or I'd be ropable.

Now I have to wonder if the HDD is the real culprit.

Found time to look at E7300/EP45-DS3 again today. Tried a few different PSUs. Plugged DVD into case PSU to isolate HDD completely.

It's the 1TB SATA Hard Drive. If I power it separately with spare PSU, (bridged green and black wires) no boot problem with the 550W PSU, or 650W PSU.

Needs a 700W PSU or better to have it plugged in to same PSU as everything else without having boot problems.
