    Lightbulb GA-P55-USB3 missing features? (VT-d)

    Hey

I've got myself a GA-P55-USB3 Rev 1.0 with the latest BIOS installed (F9).
And softwares that requires VT-d says I dont have it enabled?

If I'm correct this is also called IMMOU?!

    VT-x is enabled: Virtualization technology.............[Enabled]
But not VT-d and I cant find it anywhere.. and if it should be anywhere it should be next to the VT-x.

According to Intel® 5 Series Chipset and Intel®
    3400 Series Chipset (Intel® P55 Express Chipset) http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/322169.pdf
EDIT: I'm using a Intel® Core™ i5-670 Processor that supports the feature too

    The chipset supports it.

    Is it named something else?
If its not in the bios today ... anyone know if there's a chance Gigabyte would implement that?(hard question to answer maybe).

    Thanks

I mailed gigabyte about this and they just mailed me a modified BIOS.

I asked them if this is going to be released in future BIOS updates but got the answer:

"We will only issue a special BIOS for the users who want to used Intel special VT-D features with their Intel processor that support Intel VT-D.

It will not be implemented on the release bios."

So just mail them if you want the BIOS :)

Thanks for your info on this, I know they did release some AMD BIOSes in regards to this a while ago because many users requested it.

Can you please post the BIOS here in case anyone looks for it later, thanks!

The bios is to big (even if I zip it) to upload to board.

Hope this link will continue working:

    Hi,
What is not mentioned in this thread is that the option to enable VT-d in bios is hidden. I got this from the Gigabyte support after scratching my head for a while.

The VT-d support is optional and require a BIOS modification. The attached special edition of the F10c BIOS will support VT-d. After you have update the BIOS, please do like this to enable VT-d:

    1. Under BIOS utility setup/ press “CTRL + F1” to show hidden option.
    2. Upon pressing CTRL + F1 , there will be Advanced Chipset Feature option show.
    3. Under Advance Chipset Feature, you will see the VT-d option.

    Best regards

Maybe that was obvious for you but sure as heck wasn't for me :)
