I thought the problem may have been the RAM as well, so I have tried Corsair and Patriot RAM with no change to boot-up. I may give the Kingston RAM a go and see if that helps. BTW Iused memtest on all 6 sticks individually and the all passed OK.

Would be interesting if you could swap PSU's with your friend and see what happens!!

12gb kit? you might need more qpi/vtt voltage with that amount of ram,try with 1.36-1.38v

    Yes i use a 12GB kit (3X4GB).

I am not familiar with bios tweaking. I don't OC.

I have QPI/Vtt Voltage and options are:

    1.355V
1.375V - same cold boot issue.
1.395V - same cold boot issue.
1.415V - same cold boot issue.

qpi/pll is different,no need to manually set bclk at 133 unless you want to overclock, could try 1.415v qpi/vtt see if it still double boots from cold,if it does i would set back to what xmp sets it too, could be still a bios issue

see if it lets you adjust qpi/vtt voltage with xmp enabled,i dont know much about xmp,my ram doesnt support it,if it doesnt let you change it then set timing, ram speed and voltages manually

I can change qpi/vtt with XMP enabled.

1.415V - same cold boot issue.

I presume this is a normal issue.

yh seemslike it,you could try with just 6gb installed and see if it does the same, use xmp profile, with 12gb it might need to boot twice to check things esp when cold

sorry just read your post, you have 3x4gb modules so trying 6gb wont be possible, could try 8gb in dual channel though just to see if it double boots still
