Default GA-X58A-UD3R rev 2.0 12gb problem and general RAM problems

Hi all I'm having a few problems with my new build pc.

    here is the spec

    GA-X58A-UD3R rev 2.0 with FE1 BIOS
    i7 950
    corsair xms3 TR3X6G1600C9 6GB DDR3 1600 Mhz I have two kits of these. so 12gb
    windows 7 64bit
asus 460gtx TOP x2 running in sli
x2 Samsung HD103SJ sata 1tb drives these are plugged into the Marvell sata port
    750W power supply

i'm having serious problems getting the RAM to run correctly
the RAM is supposed to run at 1600mhz and a Latency of 9 9 9 24 with voltage 1.65

when the pc boots the BIOS is showing the RAM running at 1088mhz and a latency of 8 8 8 8 20 1.5v.
there is an extreme memory called - profile1 that sets the memory to the corsair spec
    1600mhz and a Latency of 9 9 9 24 with voltage 1.65
the machine runs fine with 6gb but as soon as i put 12gb in the computer always crashes on 1st boot of the day everytime.
i've tried overclocking the pc with 6gb of ram installed using easytune 6 doesn't work all too well
a setup guide or help would be great! to get this pc running stable with 12gb of ram installed.
i've run MEMTEST86 on all chips with 5 passes and non have errors

you need to adjust the system memory multiplier(spd) to give you 1600mhz or close to 1600mhz speed, then set ram timing to manual/quick and type in the timings in the top 4 slots
    9
    9
    9
    24
set dram voltage according to ram spec, either 1.5v or 1.66
set qpi/vtt voltage to atleast 1.36-1.4v with 12gb of ram

    I've set the
spd to x12 this gives me 1600mhz on the RAM
dram voltage is set to 1.66v
    and the QPI/VTT to 1.375

so far i its ok i'm doing alot of 3D work and rendering this usually crashes if i have memory errors

thanks for the help so far

no problem,if it does crash or blue screen then add more qpi/vtt voltage anything upto 1.4v is safe imo when using 12gb of ram and high ram speed, just keep an eye on things when your stressing, see if it remains stable if not then a touch more qpi/vtt and retest ect

so far the temps on the processor are reading between 47 and 54 degree's C while doing intensive rendering.

and it seems to be going quiet well.

next up to overclock the machine from its current 3.2 ghz to maybe 3.8? I see you have a template on your signature. would having 12gb of RAM on the sytem limit how much and can overclock the system?

you would need more cpu and qpi/vtt voltage for 3.8ghz and 12gb of ram,you may even need to reduce/underclock the ram speed when clocked that high,6gb would be fine but 12gb @1600mhz is more tricky

i'm getting prime95 blend rounding errors when the system isn't oveclocked. i dont want to overclock the computer because if i'm getting errors at this stage who knows what i'm going to get at the overclock stage. very dissapointed. would it be worth removing 6gb and stick with a stable 6gb system that I can overclock?
I'm not getting any bluescreens though.

you might need one or two clicks more on qpi/vtt voltage if your getting errors

got it stable after uppig the QPI/VTT

    running the QPI/VTT at 1.415
    RAM is at 1.66v
    Vcore 1.25v
the ram is running at 1600mhz

    my BCLK is at 133
    and multi at 24

I guess i could push the BCLK up a tad with keeping all the settings the same and get the RAM running as close to 1600 as possible?
