Default GV-N450-1GI instalation problem!! Please help!

    I bought the gigabyte NVIDIA gts 450 1gb DDR5.

Removed all old NVIDIA drivers in divice manager, and then, in safe mode, with Driver Cleaner Pro.

Pluged my new gts 450 card and went to windows. Instaled the drivers. Asked to restart, I did.

PROBLEM: after driver instalation, it runs until XP login screen, and just before it starts, just crashes (black screen, suddently blue screen, auto reboot)

I can enter in safe mode. After deleting all NVIDIA drivers I can go to windows, but after installing drivers, the problem persists.

    - tryed drivers from CD, from NIVIDIA site and from Gigabyte site. Same problem everytime.
    - tryed instaling drivers without PhisX, again, it didnt work.
    - Changed screen resolution 8saw that in the forum). still the same.
    - Updated BIOS

It's all ok when I change back to my old 7600GT

    I'm running in
    INTEL® CORE 2 DUO E6300 1.86GHZ 775 FSB1066 2MB BOX
    ASROCK 775DUAL-VSTA 775D 1066 DDR/DDR2 SATA AGP/PCI-X RAID
    TAKE MS 2x1GB DDR 400 CL3
600W LOW NOISE GOLD SATA 20/24PIN 12CM FAN
    HD 250GB MAXTOR SATA II 3.0 7200RPM 16MB
    DVD SAMSUNG 16X48X BLACK

Please help. Dont know more what to do.... Is it the motherboard incompatibility???

That's assuming that it's a BIOS issue. It very well could be, but it's more likely a driver or OS issue.

Are you using the driver that came with the card? If so download and install the latest official nVidia driver for your OS (version 260.99). These may well solve your problem. Also make sure XP is as up to date as it can be. A quick trip to Windows update will sort that.

If this all fails, personally I'd back up my data and try a fresh OS install, full update then install 260.99 and try again. Then, and only then, if all this does not help, would I start to consider a hardware or BIOS issue.

Unplug all attached usb devices including keyboard and mouse and see if you can get past the logon window.
If your have on board sound in your motherboard, disable it in the bios and see if this helps.
If you have a plug-in sound card, temporarily remove it and see if this helps.

Did you choose to install HD audio when you installed the Nvidia drivers?
