Yeah mine is okay too, but better to warn for the new rev. otherwise someone reading this and deciding to get one, could get unexpected results. OCZ should have given it an other label in the first place, I feel.

I was trying not to PWPO too but have to admit I'm a bit disappointed about the way it was marketed, as if no one would notice the difference. Hate to think of what would happen if for some reason I had to return the drive to ocz right now and get the new one back :( ...

No, I wasn't aware of the m/s Technet subscriptions.
The only problem that I had was with win7 was that the install procedure wouldn't accept my win7 product key. I solved that problem when I used CAPS LOCK and then entered the product key.

At $199 for an annual subscription and $149 for annual renewal, it's a bit too pricey for my budget. Over the years I've found answers to my windows problems by searching the internet. I have no doubt that having the Technet subscription would save time when a problem arises.

The one feature that looks interesting is having free access to many full version m/s applications for "evaluation purposes" with no time limit.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

The program works best if you share the cost and licenses with a friend or family. Upgrading the family's OS and Office software is probably cheapest with a subscription. Also, Microsoft periodically offers steep discounts. So you can keep an eye out for it, too. I would imagine that you would also want to at least upgrade your Office suite when you upgrade your OS. :)

Note, Microsoft changed their program recently. The new standard level is cheaper but gets you less than the previous subscription. But I don't need more than the standard level at this time.

I would add that it's also useful if you run Windows in VMs....

I'm pretty sure that my win7 home premium version can't run microsoft VM.

    Virtual Box?

    VirtualBox

Both the E6550 and P45 as well As Windows 7 Home Premium allows you to run VMs. I was unhappy with MS's VM.

Thumbs down Re: new SSD: OCZ Agility2 60GB (Extended Capacity)

I'm a bit disappointed about the way it was marketed, as if no one would notice the difference.
You're too polite, disgusted best describes my feelings!
I don't have a problem with the somewhat lower ssd performance with 25nm NAND, if it's primarily a benchmark issue, but some user posted 25nm benchmark scores indicate that the scores are 20 - 40% lower. The fact that OCZ is using the exact same model names/numbers as the faster 34nm existing drives is just plain wrong!

It looks like the newer 25nm drives will allow manufacturers to significantly lower prices. If these newer drives offer real world performance that is reasonably close to the current drives, then it's up to to buyers to decide if the price savings is worth it.

It looks like Crucial is doing it the right way, where their 25nm drive models will be called C400 to differentiate their new drives from the current C300 ssd family.

By the way, I don't renew the subscriptions. I only tried it twice. The first time, I was in college and split the cost and licenses with my roommates. The last time coincided with the release of Windows 7 and Office 2010 almost a year later. I am not currently subscribed. :)
