Just try it out and see if it works or not, if not maybe you can use CCC control panel to adjust the fan, you should be able to from there.

Trixx works fine with my Gigabyte 6850OC card.
You just can't change voltages on the OC cards with Trixx or MSi AfterBurner.
I have mine OC'd to 860 core and 1100 RAM.
To make Trixx start reliably I simply use Windows 7 Manager's Startup Manager to stop CLIStart.exe (that's what starts CCC) from running at windows Startup.
Then set up a Custom Fan Profile in Trixx and set it to load at Windows Startup, start minimized and restore clocks (if you OC it at all).

You can use also Task Manager to disable it if you don't have Windows 7 manager.

You guys try GIGABYTE's 58xx tool? It might let you adjust speeds, and possibly voltages - not sure, but worth a try I suppose?

Yes, OC Guru didn't work well with my 6850OC and that's probably why Gigabyte doesn't make it available on the 6850OC download page.

Ahh ok, must be a different voltage controller then, same reason it doesn't work with the 5870 UD card.

I have the same card and using Trixx (v4.1) custom fan control in Win XP Pro with CCC version 11.6 the fans seem to work ok until I minimize it, restoring it they work again, any help appreciated.

Just stop CCC from Starting with windows (in 11.6 it's named StartCCC), I used Windows 7 Manager to remove it from Startup.
That may make a difference for you.
    PS
The newest Trixx I see at Sapphire is v4.01.

I use the CCC for color profile and set AA to global rather than Application controlled, wonder if an older version of the CCC would work?

That I don't know, but I don't see any reason for you not to give it a try.
I do know that Trixx and CCC do seem to conflict at times.
You might want to try using MSI AfterBurner for you Fan Profile and see if it works with CCC for you.
