    Default TRX3X6G1600C8D x 2 (12GB) on UD7 instability.

Been trying to stabilize the addition of an extra 6GB of TRX3X6G1600C8D for a total of 12GB on the GA-X58A-UD7rev1.0 with F7 and an i7 930 set to 21x. I have tested each stick individually, and also each socket, all check out.

System was stable as a rock with 6GB just using XMP
12GB BSOD's and reboots with XMP

I disabled XMP, manually set timings to 8-8-8-24 (stock)
    Memory multiplier x12 (1600) (stock)
    CMD to 3
DRAMv to 1.56v which yields 1.538v
    QPI/VTT voltage up to 1.195v
    CPU Vcore up to 1.28125v

This configuration passes overnight memtest86+ v4.10
    And multiple 5/8 tests

Yet I have encountered BSOD in Windows 7 64 Ultimate and while trying to play CIV V.
I have read I should increase the DRAM to 1.66v, and QPI to 1.3~1.4. But it failed memtest outright. And they seem rather high compared to the fact that these settings are very similar to another system running 12GB of patriot RAM on a UD7rev1.0 F7.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

    Update
I I think I have managed to stabilize my system.
First I want to thank Wazza300 for all his help.
Now, I know everyone is different, not many people will have 2x TRX3X6G1600C8D, a Core i7 930, and a UD7 Rev 1.0 on F7. I know because I looked ;) I hope someone else will find these settings useful. Note these setting are not for Overclocking, only the CPU Clock ratio is up from 20x. Otherwise these are just stable settings to run 12GB of this RAM at 1600 8-8-8-24.

    Advanced Frequency Settings:
    CPU Clock Ratio: 22x
    Uncore Clock Ratio: 24x (3200MHz)
    X.M.P.: Disabled
    Memory Multi (SPD): 12.0 (1600MHz)

    Advanced Memory Settings:
    X.M.P.: Disabled
    Memory Multi (SPD) 12.0 (1600MHz)
    Performance Enhance: Turbo
    DRAM Timing Select: Expert
    Channel A,B,C: (8-8-8-24)
    > CAS Latency Time 8
    > tRCD 8
    > tRP 8
    > tRAS 24

    Advanced Voltage Settings
    Vcore Normal (1.25626v)
QPI/VTT 1.215v (Higher voltages such as Wazza300 was suggesting are good for OC'ing because it's at a lower current)
DRAMv 1.600v (1.58v was nearly there, but LinX needed a little more)

qpi/vtt voltage is too low for 12gb,try with atleast 1.4+ depends on your cpu too as the memory controller needs more/less with each cpu

    or try lower ram speed?

I increased the vCore to 1.25625
    And the QPI/VTT to 1.315
Passed 3 memtest #5 tests to get a sense of stability.
I then managed to reproduce the crash in Civ V

However I have a screen shot of the BSOD to read. And it might not be a memory issue this time. I need to look into fixing atikmdag.sys. Part of the ATI Catalyst suite.

All this after weeks legitimate memtest memory errors, and now a new BSOD to screw with me. This can explain successful tests, followed by BSOD's.

I will resolve this issue before enlisting further advice.

    Thank you.

Ok. Scratch that. Reducing the SPD Multiplier to auto (1066) and slowing down the RAM eliminated the atikmdag.sys error. And everything appeared stable.
So the RAM is still the issue.

try more qpi/vtt,its that that controls the ram,12gb@1600mhz will need around 1.35-1.4+,ati driver crash could be because ram isnt stable even if it passes memtest

EDIT: what gpu do you have and what is ioh and ich core voltage set to? might need two or three clicks more on each to help your gpu

    I have a Radeon HD 5850 Sapphire Toxic 2GB
IOH is set to Auto - Normal = 1.5v
ICH Core is set to Auto - Normal = 1.1v

My last BSOD shows Stop" 0x00000050 which is incorrect mem timing/freq or uncore multi, right? I'm sure 8-8-8-24, and 12x for 1600 is correct though

Also I have a Intel 930 i7. what should I try setting the Vcore to?
    Currently 1.26250v, normal is 1.25625v.

i doubt if its cpu voltage, leave it at 1.26250 for now, manually set the uncore freq to 24x 0x00050 error can be memory voltage qpi/vtt not enough

Sorry my bad. The SPD Multiplier is 12x
The Uncore is set to auto, but in blue reads3200HMz. exactly 2x the memory speed (1600). However I will still manually set it.

you can use 24x 25x and 26x for the uncore freq, whatever proves most stable

Note that sometimes, having RAM unstable won't just kick out RAM related BSOD's. It can also cause random BSOD's by proxy. In other words you'll see applications/.dll's etc named in the BSOD that crashed because of an underlying RAM issue.

If you can, download a copy of LinX. Use that along with Memtest86+ and also use Civ5 if you like. Civ5 is actually quite a good test as turn calculating is both CPU and RAM intensiove. Note though that by adding LinX to the mix (3 runs take less than 5 minutes) you will be stressing as much RAM as possible. Civ, being a 32 bit app can only address a max of 2GB and probably won't use exactly that amount.
