Default Upgrading my video card - crossfire question

My motherboard has two PCI Express 2.0 lanes and supports crossfireX. The thing is both ports are not 16x. One is 16x and the other 8x. Would the performance suffer if I ran two cards with a system like that?

I'm considering buying a HD6970 and adding another when I have themoney and or a game I want to play requires more horse power.

My monitor is 1920x1080 so it sounds like I would be fine.

Wazza I checked out your game videos and I'm curious what your using for screen capture software. Do you capture to another drive besides your main hard drive?
