Default looking for memory for ep45-ds3

Some months ago i asked the same question about memory and cannot find the relpy

I think the best one without overclocking was

    BL2KIT25664AR80A - 4GB kit (2GBx2), Ballistix Tracer 240-pin DIMM (with LEDs) , DDR2 PC2-6400 from Crucial.com GB

Please tell me if this looks ok

Those may be fine, or not. The best memoey is a memory that works.
Not much to shoose from at this time.

It looks good to me, and with the latest bios update my DS3 is able to CL4. I set timings and voltages manually. The Performance level is 7 with CL5 as well as with CL4, and it should have been 6, always goes lower with CL, so again manually.

I've used the Crucial Ballistix memory in my P35 and EP45 systems.
Excellent memory performance with stock and overclocked settings.

    Yes, those will be fine.

I've reviewed similar sets (Non-Tracer type) on P45 without any issues, link in my signature.

Talking Re: looking for memory for ep45-ds3

I am thinking ahead and wonder if I should upgrade to 6 or even 8 gigs whats the general feedback on that and which is the recommended memory
Reason for going beyond 4 gigs is two fold

    1) I run vmware
    2) I plan to ugrade my cpu to Q9550

    Thanks for any feedback

I'd still stick with 4GB, unless you know for sure you need more with Vmware (I use it often and never had problems with 4GB)

If you do decide to get more than 4GB, go 8GB not 6GB

You should get 1155 socket motherboard with I5 2300/2400 processor for 177$ and 4x4 gigs of DDR3 memory now that the prices will plummet to 30-35$ each memory module.
