Exclamation 40 TB Media Server Performance issues

I have build a media Server with following specifications,
    Gigabyte GA-H55-UD3h motherboard
    Processor i5 680
    Dell Perc 6i Raid Card
    Chenbro Expander
20 * 2Tb Western Digital Caviar Green in Raid 6 configuration

I have set Intellipark to 300secs as discussed on some forums , After installing Server 2008 R2 I transferred 3.4Tb data on the raid setup and it took 3 days . (The maximum speed reached is 30Mbps).I have set the cache block size to 512mb . I believe the speed if extremely slow , I made sure the raid card was installed in the x16 pcie slot , I might be missing something , how can I increase the performance of this media server or is it bottle neck due to hardware itself.

Did you test the RAID performance?

Yes , I ran Consistency Check on the raid card and the harddrives seems to be working fine , I am not aware of any Benchmarking Tools for raid , My test pretty much included copying files on the raid from network and locally
I did run some tests on HDtune aswell but again I dun have any information to compare this results with,
I am currently testing it by increasing stripe cache size to 1 Mb , this might increase the performance.

First thing I'd check is what mode the PCI-E is running at.
CPU-Z reports it for "graphics interface" in the motherboard tab, maybe try that.

Yes, and it is PCIe x16 thats why I used the first slot but I didnt think it would degrade the performance. I will change the slot and see if it make any difference.

I mean does it actually run at x16? Is "Link Width" x16?
I have found this 8 x 2.0TB + PERC 6i + RAID-6 = Larger Storage - Storageforum quite old but give you idea about performance.
