Waking for sleep can be pain, my system never wake up at high OC.

Does a 400 Mhz FSB oc considered as high (cpu is @default)? But it's been working w/o any issues. Should I lower the fsb and voltages accordingly? Damn, I was finally satisfied with the settings :(

    It's a 150% OC of the bus.
Just give up on sleep or set hibernation instead, it shou;d not have problem with that.

I'm using SSD as a system/boot drive and I disabled hibernation to prevent huge write cycles to the ssd in order to extend the lifetime. I didn't know that oc'ing the bus would cause issues with sleeping. What's the cause behind it? Why does the system boot ok when hibernated or shutdown?

I really don't know the cause, for some reason the BIOS decides it can't boot. It can be real or just a "bug".
Those SSD's has a life time of a million hours or more, you think you will use it for that long?
    Is there restriction on writes?

I think that current consumer level SSDs have a limited life span of of about 10,000 writes for each 4K block of data.
After a block has "worn out" from too many write cycles, it's marked as a bad block and can't be used.
I'm not aware of any limits for the number of read cycles for a block of data.

I'll perform some sleep and hibernate tests on my P35 ssd system.
    My E6400 (R0) has a 29% overclock to 3.60GHz. Stock FSB = 266, current FSB = 450MHz.

Just one wakeup resulted with that boot loop. At least I've learned that sleep could be an issue when we oc. As for the ssd, many hdd's also have such long life expectancies but most fails before 2 years! So I don't trust those numbers, especially when it comes to ssd's with very limited number of (max 10,000) writes to each cell. But I've given up doing some more oc to my system (450 Mhz fsb oc) :)

Afaik, there is no limit on read cycles. When a block becomes "not writable" it stays with the data on it as readable. But if that data should be deleted then it must be marked as bad as it won't change its content.

I hope my sleep issue was a random one. But you should also have that issue with your system if oc causes such behaviors. :-|

    First test: Hibernation
System was set to enter hibernation after 2 hours.
3 Hours after it entered hibernation, I pressed the front panel on/off switch. The system appeared to be booting properly and a "Resuming Windows" message appeared and all previous tasks were running.
    Verdict: No problem.

Next test will be using hybrid sleep mode where I will manually enter sleep mode instead of selecting Shut Down. I'll let my system sleep overnight and then resume from sleep tomorrow morning.

Stay tuned for the not so exciting results.

Thanks for doing additional testing :) But I had this problem only once, and hibernation was disabled, so no hybrid sleep. For the last 3 times it woke w/o problems. I really don't have any idea about what caused that loop.
