Thanks for the idea, but that did not solve my problem.

Seems I cant get the Backup to flash, using Alt +F12 just hangs the Post screen, no options or any thing is displayed.

Can you confirm this is the correct key stroke for this board?

Yes, ALT + F12 is correct. Are you using USB keyboard? If so try PS/2, and disable Quick Boot if you have it enabled.

Then press and hold ALT while you start the system, then press F12 a few times while holding ALT as you see the splash or POST Screen. This is done at the same time where you would normally hit DEL to enter the BIOS.

It will either work, or bring you to the boot menu, if you are seeing nothing then you are pressing it at the wrong time or something?

    @ Boyise

Did you verify your cables are connected to the proper pins in the front panel header?

Hi, Yes I'm using a USB Keyboard, and no there is no option in the BIOS to enable USB Keyboard.

I have flashed with F7 now and have tried reset sw a few more times and it seem like its now working all ok, so apearss to have been a software BIOS issue which is very odd.

I could attach a PS2 keyboard but im supprised this operation can not be acheived with some thing more moden than was invented back in the 70's

Hopfully with the fix comign from the F7 BIOS update I wonnt need ot worry about it any more, untill the board is replaced via the Faulty Intel chipset Recall.

If im missing the Enable USB Keyboard option please point it out but I have looked every where I can access.

    Thank you for your response.

There is several options in the BIOS for USB keyboards. There is USB keyboard, and USB Legacy/USB Storage which also affects some keyboards.

If you press F12 by itself are you presented with the Boot Menu screen? If not I think you need to maybe ensure your "F" Lock key is enabled or disabled, sometimes that is set incorrectly causing the F keys to fail at post.

You don't have to use PS/2, I just mentioned it so you could do the flash, in case your USB keyboard continued to give you issues. I use USB keyboard without issues, G11 Logitech.

The USB settings are in the Integrated Peripherals BIOS page.

I have a pic of the BIOS and how its set that is no alowing me to use ALT+F12, and yes using F12 alone gives me the Boot options overlay.

Did you try both ALT keys, maybe one is failing since F12 by itself does give you the boot menu?

What BIOS are you actually using now? If it's a "Final" BIOS then ALT+F12 may be disabled in those, not sure as I never used them myself unless specifically asked by someone to test something.

I am using UD7 and F7e right now, and can confirm ALT+F12 works in this BIOS because I just used it the other day.

Did you check to be sure you have "Quick Boot" Disabled? Not sure where that is as I never use it, maybe Advanced Page or Power page?

Yes using the FINAL version of F7, Quick BOOT is disabled, and yes after several attempts the RIGHT ALT key +F12 works, so thank you for this.

So you got it then right? If so great!

And thanks for letting us know it does work on F7 final too, I wasn't sure if it was enabled in that one (Sometimes it is not)
