Why does corruption only occur when starting after hours off?

What are the factors that are different between cold and warmed up boot?

The only difference I can think of is temperature.

I guess I have to tear apart the hardware and put it back together again.

It could be the ram not 100% fully supported by the bios yet, giving you cold boot issues or a faulty batch of ram, once warm its fine its just when pc has been off for few hours and its cold
Plus it could still be a voltage not right, but you shouldn't need to tweak that much imo

The HD 5770 seems to be completely fine on my fully stable system. :)

Still, it is pretty suspicious that I will be re installing Windows twice since installing the HD 5770. The first time was due to a highly unusual driver error between a driver I knew to be stable on my system and Windows. Now, I am getting this cold boot issue. I'm wondering, is there any cable I could have knocked loose that could cause these issues?

Just make sure all your psu cables/sata cables and that the gpu is fully seated, have you updated the Intel inf chipset drivers? That might help things

Cold boot issues can be caused by BIOS bugs, or memory, and these BIOS are pretty mature.

So really the only problem left would be memory. Test each stick one at a time (One each morning) at the settings you normally use and see if one is causing the issue, or if they all cause it.
