Default Coolermaster Hyper 212+ on GA-P55-USB3 rev 2.0

    Hi,

I have a Coolermaster hyper 212+ installed in a ga-p55-usb3 mobo on the 4-pin PWM cpu fan. With the case opened i have seen the fan not spinning when i open the PC but starts after 2 -3 seconds. Has anyone else noticed that? Is it normal?
Also i have some concerns about the readings in CPUID Hardware monitor. From time to time i have seen 0 RPM as the min value and some bizarre 6570000 RPM as the max. Could it be a software bug reading the RPM from the fan? If someone owns a hyper 212+ and it's no trouble opening the case please check if the fan starts spinning instantly when opening the PC or starts after 2-3 seconds. I don't want to return it and go through all the trouble again installing it

Great, thanks. Does Everest has Min/Max values i want to monitor that after playing a game and stuff. Or it just reads the current values?

Not sure if you can make it log like that or not?

If you want to monitor temps for gaming Realtemp keeps a good log, but just temps

HWmonitor is still buggy, I noticed the same thing you mentioned on some fans sometimes. Normal not PWM fans or CPU fan, just case fans (I don't use CPU Fan)

ga ep 45 sometimes runs the fan at full speed, until it starts to post depending on what you set in bios.
Hit your desired settings save and boot.
Fan really should start immediately on boot to avoid problems, unless it has a v high initial power requirement and the 212 isnt that hi i believe.
Once you have loaded and booted with the desired fan control ,go back to optimised defaults then reload the saved bios settings seems to clear it.
Hw monitor prob has been there for 2-3 years, sometimes reading 80k rpm or sometimes 0 , which really messes up the avg fan speed.
As an aside there is a coolermaster parts site in holland.. (.nl) which is offering the 212+ with a multi cpu base(amd,1366,1156+1115,and lga 775) for 12 euro ,about $16 which would give you an extra fan and any current cpu adapter base for good money.
