    Chike,
Now that I understand "affinity" let's find "infinity" (post #200).
Thank you, are you sure I can not send you something you can use? I really appreciate your counsel.
    Sincerely,
    BD
BTW: There is a "player"program VLC that, although it changes your default settings and wants to install search engines, etc. is a wonderful "low overhead" program. You might want to check it out.

If the BIOS does not match it won't flash, and FD is the latest non beta BIOS for this board, but do not use @BIOS to flash, it is safer to flash with the BIOS' built-in Q-Flash, also with non OC settings. You will need to copy the BIOS file to a usb flash-drive, and enable USB storage function in BIOS.
Disable Keep DMI data, and write down your settings as it will clear saved BIOS profiles too. Migrating BIOS profiles does not always work for different BIOS versions.

Yes I am sure no need to send me anything :)

EDIT: I use VLC player sice 2004...

    Chike,
My BIOS is reported as Award EP45-UD3P FD, in Gigabyte' @BIOS is this a good one?
The boot screen says Award Bios Version:6.00PG are they the same? Any idea why the difference?
@BIOS also says that the Flash Memory type is MXIC 25L1605A 8Meg.
    Did you look at VLC?
What GHz should we try for next?

    Lets try 1GHz increments.
For that you will have to use SMM 2.40B if possible, if not 2.00D/B whichever work.
Test stability with current bus frequency and SMM 2.40B then increase FSB to 414 and vcore as needed.
If it's unstable we will have to twek MCH Core/VTT/references.

    Chike,
What about my BIOS question from post #203? Are they one in the same or am I seeing two different BIOS descriptions?
I will try your suggestions and let you know how it went.
    Thank you,
    BD

I answered the BIOS question at post #201.
The post screen should show FD, at the top left corner.
FD is the latest final for the board so should be fine.

    Chike,
By only changing the SMM to 2.40B and raising the FSB I was able to get to 440 which is a FSB of 1760! (MB specs say it should top out at 1600) That is 3.3 GHz 41.8 GFlops @ 1.216V on the CPU. The temps in IBT were in the mid 60Cs I tried 450 but it froze starting Prime95. Everything was hot straight and normal at 430 1700 FSB.
However the graphing for CoreTemp was screwy at 440 as you can see in the screen shot of the two IBTx5 runs.
    What to try next?
    BTW Is a Q9450 2.66 GHz (BX80569Q9450A) a good processor for OCing?

For a nice OC and ram at it's spec 444MHz FSB.
    Can you post full settings?
I don't know the 9450, 9550 E0 stepping is a great OCer but do you realy want to invest too much in this? This is old technology. If you haven't bought this board you could get a new MB ad CPU for ~350USD which are much better than this, and even cheaper memory.

    Chike,
Here is my BIOS. The graphing function of Core Temp bothers me. Even though IBT says that things are stable I know that what was graphed is not correct. and the FSB is 660 higher than the board's specs say it should be and for some reason the Ram speed drooped to 1056 from 1066. I marked the 4 changes with "<----NEW"
    Thank you,
    BD

    What graphing function?
    All looks good to me.
Memory dropped because we had to use 2.40B multiplier instead of 2.66D.
With 444MHz FSB it will be at 1066. Try to set Driving strength manually to 1066 on both channels and see if you can lower Static tRead.
waht GFlops with stock settings do you remember?
