    Chike,
Remember, I am currently running Win XP Pro sp3. I will be installing Win 7 Ultimate 64 shortly.

72C is not to bad is it? I know that it is very hot but I do not think that it will happen in "normal" computing. The increase in accuracy in the graphing function is somehow comforting to me. Do you think 1.2750V is that dangerous?
Your FSB is changing by .2 and mine is .4 is there something that I could try to see if I can gain more stability here?
Thank you again. 43.8GFLops is not to far from the mark.

72C isn't bad but it is calibrated.

Personaly I wouldn't go below 15 distance to TJmax for CPU with TJmax 100(or that is supposed to be 100).

1.275v is far from dangarous, I just said that maybe it's not needed and you can set it back as it was, or at least as low as you can for same GFlops. If it doesn't add Flops then it's just increasing heat.

    Chike,
It is the BIOS alarm that is going off. Core Temp is saying that it is 70C I set the BIOS (which is not calibrated) as a fail safe at 70C just so I would be aware just in case. As I said I like the way the computer is acting properly (which it was not doing previously re:graphing) so I think I will leave it as is for now. The alarm was going off before I added 2 clicks just more intermittently. The alarm does not start until ~7 to 10 seconds into first test and stops in between runs during test.
BTW I updated my signature and profile.
    Have you reconsidered? :-)

I have no ide, I don't have a speaker connected to the MB.
See with EasyTune HWMonitor or HWMonitor(CPUID) what CPU temp is.
The BIOS does not read core temperatures but the diode which supposed to be calibrated but I've seen it off big time with this specific MB revision.

    Chike,
I am just using it as a "heads up" early warning system. EzTune 6 is saying 76C and agrees with the warning beep at 70C. I can set the beep to go off at 60C, 70C, 80C, OR 90C. I have it set at 70C for safety. ;-) Calibrated Core Temp and Real Temp are in the same range reading ~3C to 4C lower. I get ~+30C temp rise using LinX. BTW I notice that Core Temp's Core "0" turns orange when the BIOS alarm goes off. The diode must be on or very near core 0.
Did you check the changes in the signature and profile?

    Chike,
I just found out that the Q9650 uses the same power as my Q9300. So if I want to take this rig to the limit say 4.2GHz is it worth getting a QX9650 or a QX9770 that can use 35 to 40 watts more for about $35 to $40 more?
What do you think? Aside from the money and the "old technology"

From what I saw in the forum, the Q9650 does not always prove to clock better than the Q9550.
The QXs has more cache memory, but note that the QX9770 has native 400MHz FSB which means that if you want 4GHz+ it will need 500MHz+ FSB.
Lsdmeasp can give you more educated answer.

I am just trying to be rational, wouldn't make sence to buy a CPU for the price of CPU+board+memory that wil perform better, what price range can you get them?

    Chike,
A QX9750 can be had for< $250. A Q9650 for <$225. They seem to be the major victem of the newer technoligy.
What could you get for that much?

BTW I am going to be out of the office for three days, back on Thursday.

    A Core i5-2600K is about 225USD
I cannot find QX9750 on intel site.
I've seen a few pictures of QX9650 OC to 3.8-4GHz at safe voltages.
Wait to see what Lsdmeasap say about them.
