Default Fine Tuning GA-P55-USB3 Rev 2.0 Bios

After fine tuning the OC of an i5-750 and memory timings i wanted some advise in the next section of the bios which i have left on optimal defaults. I made some default changes such as disabling com1 and lpt1 ports and i have some questions :

"Onboard SATA/IDE Device (GIGABYTE SATA2, IDE and GSATA2_6/7 Connectors)
Enables or disables the IDE and SATA controllers integrated in the GIGABYTE SATA2 chip."

Can i disable this since i am using only 1 SATA drive in SATA_0 and 1 SATA DVD at SATA_5 that are controlled by the P55 chipset?

Also about the HPET it is enabled and set to 32-bit. I guess i have to set it to 64-bit since i am running Windows 7 64bit right?

    HPET isn't supported by XP.
But if you believe in the work Intel & Microsoft have done to improve smoothness of multimedia playback & you have a 64 bit OS that supports HPET, then you may as well give it 64bit width.
If you think the whole thing is a load of croc, then just disable it.

I set it to 64bit didn't see any difference, i will keep it that way.

Now about the GSATA controller i had a hunch after disabling it. The GSATA passes through the PCIe lane so i figured disabling it might boost something. I don't know if i was right but i ran Unigine after that and the Scores raised by 15 and i had 3 fps more in tha Max Fps score. Anyway i haven't plugged anything there so good or bad i disabled it.

Thats about all about fine tuning, now the big question will be IDE vs AHCI for my SATA2 disk. I will read more about the pros and cons and decide. Ofc if someone can elaborate you are welcome.
