Don't bother looking for the 2.0 port. All your ports should be connected somehow to your 2.0 controller.

Since you are able to use the webcam at 2.0 without the extension, the likely issue is the extension cable itself.

Maybe you should order a new cable from Monoprice?

That with the webcam connected? It dose't shw any USB device.
I think all ports should support the "Enhanced" - USB FAQ: Introductory Level.
I have plucged my SanDisk Cruzer at just 2 different random ports in the back panel and it appears under the same controller as the webcam, the mouse appear under a "Universal" controller.

I may be wrong because I've never used one, but I think webcams are high bandwidth devices. You might want to verify that all your ports are 2.0 by plugging it into every USB port without the extension. It should work on all of them.

Cables have information printed along its length. Does the extension cable say 2.0 or high speed on it?

    Yes, I know it's 2.0 compatible, I bought it from Monoprice :)

Webcam seems to work fine in every port. Maybe they are all 'enhanced' whether or not it says it.

Haha. The fellas at Monoprice seem friendly. Maybe you could contact them about your extension cable.

It is possible that length, then, is the issue. Backward compatibility is a feature of USB. Part of this means that if something goes wrong, the speed downgrades to the lower speed. But this would render your webcam inoperable.

The fact that your webcam can work on all your ports pretty much points to your extension cable as the problem, it seems to me. :)

I ordered a couple of 3' extensions from Amazon to give a shot. (Would have gone with Mono, but hate to pay shipping for 1 cable :p)

Thanks everybody for jumping in with the help!

That's why I have tried with a USB Flash Drive which should also be Hi-Speed, do you have one to test with?

Yeah, have a few floating around. What speed should I be looking for if they are enhanced? Should I use Crystal disk mark, or just a plain file copy?

I think it takes minutes for USB 1.1 to transfer a 300MB file. 2.0 should transfer it in much less than a minute. But USB stick performance varies greatly, too. :)
