Question X48-DQ6 > PCI express to mini PCI 16 GB SSD ? for boot drive

Hi, I have a question about using an adapter using a PCI express adapter to Mini pci for a SSD boot drive, Can this be done ?

this 16 GB SSD is a mSATA and it's in a notebook of mine and want to know if it's possible to use it in my X48-DQ6 MB with and adapter as a SSD boot drive ?

    Have you tried it out?

Under BIOS, you can set HDD boot priority. There should be an option to boot from add-in cards. HAve you tried to load prioritizing add-in cards?

No I have not tried it, it was a thought because I was reading were people use small SSD's to boot, I had gotten one of those google chrome CR-48 notebooks and changed the bios for Luigis bios and my notebook became corrupt and today I finally had gotten ubuntu on it but still can't restore the Whole book back to factory specs !, Anyway I was going to try and use the mSata ssd and buy a adapter Sata to mSata but wasn't sure if it would work !

You'd either have to try and see, or ask Gigabyte directly about it (And tell them the brands of devices)
GIGABYTE - Support & Downloads - Technical Support

Not many people, if any, have done this so we really wouldn't be able to say for sure
