Nice, now that is saving money! Hahaha, just read the above post about that :)

Ahh, sorry to hear you installed the Marvell drivers!! Please remove them now, and just install the "Magni Console Driver" from your motherboard page, so it's newer than the CD ones.

Do not install the other Marvell drivers, just Magni Console, if you have to/want to stay on the slower Marvell controller. That driver will shut the device manager up :)

Also, no RAID on the Marvell controller, at least not for a SSD, that will make it worse than using a single drive speed-wise and probably 10x worse stability-wise.

I don't see it here. Which driver? (TY)

haha i was just trying to determine the odds of a typo. but u would have had to also mistyped or not-typed three characters too.lol

I figured the word "console" was a constant. And i did already have the Marvell DLed before ur reply.lol

Some pages have Magni Console, and others just have Console?

You just don't want to install the other mv91xx drivers, that way you stay using MSAHCI driver.

I uninstalled the Marvell 91xx's driver. Then updated it from the latest one from my mobo page.

So now I have the following installed in DM under System Devices/ Marvell 91xx Config Device:
    Driver Provider: Marvell Semiconductor Inc
    Driver Date:10/23/2009
    Driver Version: 1.0.0.1027

Are those the correct Dates and version?

Because I think the ones from the DVD that came with my mobo (version 2) were newer.

(I didn't write the info down because I always have complete Full or Incremental backup images of my C drive before I do anything destructive.)

Should I document it by uninstalling the current/ just DLed and installed ones? And then install the ones on my DVD?

(Note to self: Just in case they are newer, the DVD's label reads, "Ver. 1.04".)

Note: I can restore my C drive from a a backup image of my C Drive when I woke up. And therefore redo the three reg keys and install the right drivers that u suggest.

Last but not least, was I suppose to install the "Marvell RAID Utility (SATA3)". Because I did.

    (ty!)

Well there is a newer driver version, but not sure if that's mv91xx driver only or Magni as well?

No, the ONLY Marvell driver you should install is the Magni Console one we talked about above.

When you run AS SSD it should show MSAHCI as the driver, not mv91xx

    What is, "AS SSD"?

    no, I've never bench-marked HDDs b4. That's probably why I haven't ever used RAID before. ;-)

    But I am game!

So I will install it now.

It doesn't matter that I only have SATA drives because it's ur favorite for those too, right?
