Default GA-P55A-UD3R: Second KIT of DDR3 RAM causes Bluescreens

    Hello!

For quite some time, I am running my P55A-UD3R with an intel core i5 750 (default settings) with 2x2GB G-Skill F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ RAM sticks (voltages set to AUTO in BIOS) without any problems (Win7 Home 64bit).

Last week, I plugged in another 2 sticks of identical RAM, making it 4 sticks (2GB each) of the above mentioned G.Skill RAM (I chose this RAM because it was on the list of supported RAM for my mainboard). But since I plugged this second set of sticks in, my PC started having bluescreens here and there. I have never ever had any bluescreen on this particular system before, and the bluescreens have vanished after I took the new stick out.

My question: after various rounds of memtest (which found no error), are those sticks broken or is it necessary to crank up the memory voltage in order to make them run?
I would normally think, such a KIT of supported RAM should work right out of the box without any manual tweaking.

I am thankful for any input.

    ZM

I am currently not sitting on this particular PC, but qpi/vtt with 8 GB was set to 1.1V (set to AUTO as well iirc).

Can I take your response that you dont think the RAM sticks are broken?

I don't know,I don't thinkso though, more likely a voltage issue,I would try around 1.35v qpi/vtt voltage and set qpi link speed to 44x,setting it to auto won't be as accurate as manual voltages

To see the actual applied voltages use EasyTune -> Advanced -> Voltage tab, target voltages are those that being used.
The values displayed in BIOS are just default values.
It is always a good idea to test the new added ram alone in the same slots it would be installed, there is always the possibility it may be faulty.
