I would stay at stock clocks with Intel cooler,to run ram at 1596 mhz set spd/mem multi to 12x and try with 1.3 qpi/vtt voltage

No go with the 12x. I mean it worked once, the morning i set them, but the next morning it did not start. It seems the best results were achieved with the 1.66v on ram and 1.355 on qpi/vtt and the timings on the ram input manually. According tot the BIOS those settings had the best boot count.

You should be able to run at 1600mhz easily, you could have a poor batch of ram?you shouldn't need that much qpi either

Try with 12x memory multi, and set uncore frequency to 24x,it might be stable at 1600mhz then,if not try with slightly more qpi/vtt voltage

it won't boot at all with these settings(overclocking failed)
    ram 1.66v
    ram multi 12
    qpi/vtt 1.355v
    uncore multi 24
    cpu multi 23
    QPI 36
ram timings are 8-8-8-24 with 2T

One more question: if the command rate is 2T does that double the effective frequency(if the multi is set for 800 MHz, with 2T is it 1600?)
With the QPI/VTT i'm already in the red on the mobo(1.355), should I up it one more time?

No,2t will be slower than 1t,you can use more qpi/vtt voltage as long as your temps are good

okay, i upped the qpi/vtt voltage to 1.375 and it booted up fine. Will try again tomorrow and check for the temps.

The temps are fine, last night it worked ok, but this morning BSOD with the same settings:
    ram 1.66v
    ram multi 12
    qpi/vtt 1.375v
    uncore multi 24
    cpu multi 23
    QPI 36
ram timings are 8-8-8-24 with 2T

Should I increase the DRAM termination voltage also?

Do the data referrence and adress reference voltages have to be half of the SPD voltage?
And what's the difference between them?

Some CPU's just need more QPI/Vtt, I have a few that need 1.375 as a minimum starting at 1600 memory or 3600 uncore. So it sounds fine to me, not all CPU's are going to be able to do 1600MHz with 1.2-1.3, only the lucky ones.

You can leave the ref voltages you mentioned in auto, they will be automatically set properly.

What is the BSOD code you are getting? It's the last set of numbers, looks like this (0x0000124) << If it is ending in 124 that means you need more QPI/Vtt for sure, and if so just raise it until it helps, you will be fine.
