All looks fine, but set dram to 1.66v in bios which will be 1.648v in Windows, then set qpi/vtt to 1.315v,see if it still fails at cold boot

Thanks a million....will try those settings and get back to you in the morning
EDIT: only one BSOD and then it booted up fine............like I said, it usually takes 4 or 5, with startup repair and all that jazz, so this the fastest bootup I've had yet, but it's still not perfect. Further tweaks?

Could try around 1.35v qpi/vtt and see if it improves

Only upped it to 1.335, as the next one(1.355) was in the red on the mobo. Do I need a better cooling solution(right now it's stock-box) or will it void my warranty? Just being cautious and not knowing what I'm talking about.

So, with 1.335, one restart in the morning and, at the next bootup, as soon as I entered Windows, it said it had just installed the driver for my processor and i need to restart. Restarted and worked fine. What's that about?

Idk,maybe it was an auto update in Windows? 1.35v qpi/vtt is ok,it won't create as much heat as more cpu voltage and no it won't void your warranty, what are core temps like? Download and run coretemp to check, you could try lowering qpi/vtt back to stock and see if it was the cpu driver causing it?if not put back to 1.35v

I've never seen such a message in windows, didn't even know there was a CPU driver. Coretemp is 52-54 in low load(a movie and Chrome), but I've been getting bluescreens in normal operation, I think it may be a windows loader I've recently installed. Will get back to you. Thanks for all the help so far.

I disabled the turbo to get my set multiplier 23x.
Two days in a row it's been stable and no cold boot issues with QPI/VTT 1.355, RAM 1.66 and the core temps are still 52-54, which I understand are somewhat normal for I7 so a thank you is in order.
