Default EP45-DS3 Windows Wont Boot On 1066 But Will On 800

Sorry to have started 2 theads on the same subject but im not sure if this is a RAM setting or mobo setting

I have a Gigabyte P45-DS3 mobo and recently have had to exchange my Corsair XMS2 1066 RAM for some Kingston HyperX 1066 RAM (KHX8500D2K2/4G) runnig a total of 8GB

My mobo pics up the RAM running 800Mhz with the timings of 5-5-5-18 But when I try to set it at 1066 5-5-5-15 i get a double boot. So I pump up the volts to 2.30 like it says on the stick and as windows is loading i get a blue screen.

This RAM can run at 1066. Kingstons discription on it:

DESCRIPTION:Kingston's KHX8500D2K2/4G is a kit of two 256M x 64-bit 2GB (2048MB) DDR2-1066 CL5 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory modules, based on sixteen 128M x 8-bit DDR2 FBGA components per module. Total kit capacity is 4GB (4096MB). Each module pair has been tested to run at DDR2- 1066MHz at a latency timing of 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 800Mhz timing of 5-5-5-18 at 1.8V. Each 240-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +1.8V

    Any advice anyone?

    Thanks
    Paul

If you have not load optimized defaults yet please do so first.
    Set:
    Performance Enhance standard,
    MCH Core 1.2-1.24v
    DRAM Voltage 2.2-2.3v
Static tRead Value(a.k.a tRD, Performance Level in MemSet) 8 on both channels
Driving Strength 1066 on both channels.

If you manage to boot you may try to lower tRD, 7 or even 6 may be possible.

    Thanks for the reply Chike.

    Sadly it still didnt work.

I Ran the setting as u suggested. 1st time around windows didnt attempt to start. After it detected the boot manager it loaded a black screen asking me to insert the windows disk and run windows start up repair.

So i restarted the computer loaded my optimized defaults (so ram runs 800 Mgz 5-5-5-18) and windows booted up no problem.

Restarted and went to bios again but bumped up the RAM to 2.3v and the Mcore at 1.24v. PC rebooted correctly windows load up screen came up (were is says "starting windows") and before the 4 colours balls come around to make the windows logo (windows 7) it crashed and remained with the same screen with the black background and "starting winows" displayed.

Any other settings im missing out?

    Thanks
    Paul

didn't boot with 2.3 DRAM Voltage and 1.24v MCH Core while memory still at 800 5-5-5-18?
Try to figure which one it is the MCH Core or DRAM voltage. MCH may be OK at 1.2 and ram at 2.2.
What BIOS version do you have? If you don't know download CPU-Z from the programs sticky and check in the Motherboard tab.

Try Higher MCH Core up to 1.32v.
As alternative to 1066 you can try 800 with timings 4-4-4-12.

Sadly a higher MCH didnt help. Havent tryed the different timmings. Im not 100% clued up how timings work so how would an alternative to 1066 would be 800 with timings 4-4-4-12?

    Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me Chike. I know how ro adjust the timings. The main issue is i cant go over 3.60 Ghz because the RAM clocks higher there for its then unstable and i get double boots etc..
