    12GFlops not enough at 5GHz :-)
There's this one image I've found that is closer to expected GFlops at 5GHz. It's 2600K but with 4 threads only, 2500K can't be much worse.

AVX suppose to be double SSE 4 according to wikipedia.
Will take some time untill applicatins will utilize AVX, but it sure beats any Core i7 9xxx.
OK, I have a few results from 4.2GHz using 12.31.2010 dated Linpack files, I'll edit them into this reply in a few minutes.

Click to enlarge (One is on UD4 and one is on UD7 - 60-61 Gflops @ 4.2GHz)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review!

Yes the CDM result is correct, did you miss what is being tested? I only used CDM in this review for USB 3.0 V.s 2.0 testing, and in the CDM window it says what is being tested.

SSD was only tested with ATTO and AS SSD this time around, I didn't want to add in 4 more graphs and honestly the CDM results would be on par with ATTO anyway normally so it would just be dupe info.

I have seen some run at XS forum at people with out AVX at 5.0ghz are getting around 70-80 gflops while with avx get around 110-120 gflops
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed the read!

    Thanks.
So the AVX does double the GFlops.
The 1nd generation computing power does not fall behing previous generation Core i7, it's memory is just as good with two channels. Good job Intel.
Anyone who invest in X58 is making a mistake IMO.

BTW, when do one get ESs?

Ya, it sure does, heat too!

ES, you have to be in the right spot at the right time :)
