    You are confusing things with each other.

    EIST allows your CPU to change clocks, each core has separate clocks.
    C1E allows your CPU to change voltage according to needs of cores.
    C6 allows your CPU to completely turn off cores if not used for power saving purpuoses, which helps to lover voltage even more.

    So technically it won't drop to 1-3 cores, but it will run 3 cores at 1.6GHz while the 4th will run at 4.6GHz if needed. I suggest you checking out CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting (but i think SB is not supported yet).

    Cool. I guess I will keep everything on then. I will push as far as I can while keeping all powersaving features. Like I said, its only for TV. I plan on upgrading my I7 930 as soon as LGA 2011 drops. That will be my beast machine.

    Thanks again guys, she is sleeping like a baby. I did overlook the "Wake on ring" setting. Now I have zero complaints about my board.
