Sorry man, I forgot you have 970 (always thinking 980X)

Use x23 CPU multi then for now, so you can rule out "Even" CPU multiplier as part of causing these issues, that was the only reason I suggested x25. Keep turbo disabled too for now.

And you'll need to try 1.25-1.35+ QPI/Vtt, on the higher side not lower

Looks all good to me, from what I can see, only first two images really show the whole socket of course. The last ones are ok, but with it only showing a corner and bluring the rest that doesn't help much.

Try the above settings, with x23 CPU and 1.375-1.425 QPI/Vtt, IOH 1.14, Uncore x20

K, I'll try now. Here's the video. youTube is still processing, but when done it should be in 1080p.

Looks ok, but if you want me to be 100% sure I need to see another video from an angle looking towards the socket from the side.

Like 45 degree angle from the side of the socket looking inwards, lighting looked ok and may actually work fine like that with your moving the light around, but I need to see the pins from an angle as looking directly down onto them makes it hard to see them properly.

    QPI/VTT [1.40]=fail
    QPI/VTT [1.42]=fail

Hundreds and hundreds of combos later I tried manually putting in the Profile1 settings and that killed the BIOS so it auto copied over the FB BIOS. Turned off the comp, CLR CMOS, Load Opt. Defaults + Save Close, Logo Disable + Init Disp PCIE_1 + Profile 1, I think that's it - I have to double check but MemTest No Red Fail! This setting would 100% fail in the FF and the Fg1 BIOS. There must be significant changes in those. I'll keep playing around with the Lsdmeasap settings, hopefully I won't get a morning surprise again. Chances are I will since too many things are auto. *crossing fingers* I'm gonna snap some ET6 and CPUZ pics and post later.

EDIT: Hey, this is strange. There used to be "System 3" temp slider in the HW Monitor tab (Fan/Temp) of ET6, right above "CPU" temp slider. In FB BIOS it gone. The Fan sensors are the same.

Hmm, nice to hear of some progress at least now! And all memory showing as usable/available in taskmanager?

Maybe they messed up or left out compatibility for these modules in the more recent updates?

    ET6 Image

    Task Manager Image

So far so good. I'm freaked out to turn it off. It's 2:41AM and I'm wired so I'm gonna continue testing lol.

EDIT: Cranked Mental Ray, rendered and opened a couple other apps. Looking good. ET6 & TM Image

OK this bug is 100% repeatable. The problem starts if you shut down the computer. The next time you power up something changes that can never be changed back unless you reload another BIOS. CLR CMOS doesn't fix it and Loading any Defaults doesn't either. There is something else that gets messed up when you shut down.

With the "Profile1 the rest Auto" Setting I had no MemTest Failures, no BSDs, and managed to run every application and game on the computer at the same time. Alt tabbing around no problem. Remember this is after the BIOS failure/recovery to FB BIOS. I shut down windows, waited a bit, then turned the computer back on and sure enough MemTest threw failures. I tried Loading Opt. Defaults then it froze after Verifying DMI Pool Data. I pushed reset and it froze right after the CPUID something line. I powered it off pulled two DIMMs (8GB mode), got back into windows, copied FB BIOS and loaded FF, Set the "Profile1 the rest Auto" settings and MemTest was good with the 8GB. I turned the computer off put the two DIMMs back (12GB mode) and MemTest was perfect again.

The same thing happened when I updated to Fg1 and the first time I updated to FF. Once you shut down, that's it. Lockups after CPUID on the splash or lockups after Verifying DMI Pool Data, BSD's, MemTest & Windows Mem Diag Tool hardware errors, CRC errors etc etc... BTW what is the DMI Pool data? Also does EasyTune manipulate the BIOS?

I think dmi pool data is a checklist of components and voltages that it checks and passes onto the os ready to boot up,maybe someone knows more about this? So it does it on all bios versions? Or is FF bios fine?

Easytune is windows/software based so I don't think it alters any bios settings just changes it in software
