Big Image of ET6 and CPUZ Readings - Good 12GB -

youTube of current BIOS settings ("Lazy" Settings)

EDIT: Been working in Photoshop for a while, installed Battlefield2, edited that vid. Slept it three times and checked MemTest = no errors. After work I'll fill out a template with some of those settings and leave empty the ones I don't know.

EDIT2: What should I put in the empty variables?

You can leave all those advanced memory timings on auto, they'll be fine.

Your QPI/Vtt looks a bit low.

Do you plan to overclock at all? I ask because sometimes it's way easier to get a stable overclock than it is to get stock stable, not sure why this is, but it is true.

I don't plan on it since I bought the lowest priced RAM I could to make 12GB. If I bought the ones compatible with the board I think not only could I overclock it but I wouldn't have this weird shutdown issue.

What based on the snaps of ET6 and CPUZ would be altered from a shutdown to cause memory problems? If we can answer that then we could figure out a solution to this madness. ;) I haven't shutdown the comp yet so I'm still running at 12GB without MemTest errors.

1.20 is what it is at now in the "Lazy settings" check the pic. I'm looking to force the lazy settings so hopefully I don't get the mem errors after shutdown.

Well I meant overclock the CPU more than anything.

RTL's can change on shutdown, and then be different on reboot. Check what the current RTL is for each channel A/B/C with CPU-Tweaker and then reboot and see if you get errors and if they are changed or not, then if so you can manually set what was originally working in auto on this working bootup

Here is CPU-Tweaker, you will need to select channel A/B/C to view each RTL separately
    http://www.tweakers.fr/download/CPU-Tweaker.zip

And this is what you are looking for, and before you ask - no they are not supposed to match :)

Those settings I had in post#72 failed (I used Turbo instead of Extreme and set the empty vars to Auto). I couldn't get 12GB to not throw errors so I'm on 8GB now.

Yea, for sure I'd be into overclocking if I could just get passed stock clock ;)

I DL'd CPU-Tweaker and CH A = 52, B = 53, C = 52. I wish I had a method of tricking it back into no error 12GB, but I don't. I thought if I pull some ram and let the DPI pool whatever update then put the ram back in then that would trick it, but it doesn't. This Mobo has a mind of its own.

    EDIT: with the 12GB back in, throwing MemTest errors, the RTL is A = 51, B = 52, C = 54.

Well as I mentioned sometimes it's much easier to get a stable overclock than it is a stock one, so you might want to try it now.

If you are only using 8GB (Two channels), then channel C setting doesn't mean anything right now. Ya, you'll need another 12GB no error run, then a 12GB error run to compare and see if maybe this is the issue.

Or you could just put 12GB back in and loosen these settings and see if you get an error free run or not? I'd try that, put in 12GB and then manually set each channel's RTL's - try (A/B/C) 54/56/59 or 60/61 and see if that sorts it out or not.

If channel A is already more than 54 with 12GB in adjust accordingly using the above example

I'm having no luck @12GB. How high should I go with the RTL and is there a relationship with how "off" the DIMMs in the channel is compared to how high the RTL of the channel should be? Am I thinking about it right? Also how about the tRAS? I've tried 28 a couple times in diff. settings. Anything else I should try?

It's late here, I'll hit it tomorrow hard trying to trick it into good 12GB mode so I can snap some pics of CPU-Tweaker. Hopefully that will give us an idea.

Try 57-59-63, that should be plenty loose enough, if that does not help then this isn't going to help and is not likely the cause of the problem or what helped it work previously.

tRAS is fine at stock setting, but you can try looser as you have and 28 was plenty for that as well. You could try tRFC but I;m sure auto is setting that fine, 88-110 should be way more than enough
