Did you manage to test it with the crucial ram? What brand of psu and gpu are you using in the msi?

No the cruical ram hasnt turned up. Im tried both my old 5770 and my new 560gtx ti in my msi as well as the new corsair 850w hx psu i got but it has no affect. Im am starting to wonder to be fair if the ram or cpu is at fault and i will ask scan if they want me to send them back at this rate because it seems way to unlikely for 3 boards to fail like this.

Do you have the crucial ram now? What other ram you tried? I would wait till you get the crucial ram and try with that before you return anything, you might just need a bios update to get your original ram working, its hardly likely to be a faulty cpu but i wouldn't rule it out completely,I would think its incompatible ram with current bios

Well there's only the cpu and memory you've used on all 3 boards so it can only be one of those imo, goodluck on it being the ram,if it is and it boots up using crucial, then I would update the bios and then try your other ram to see if it works

Ya, sometimes certain memory may not work at all or properly until the BIOS has been updated, so I'd test that as well once you get the other memory.

so tried my cheap ram today and i can report that it makes no difference. Ive now tried 2 gpus , 2 different sticks of ram and 2 psus only thing thats the same is the cpu so im going to ask scan if they want the cpu back as well as the board this time!

That's bad luck I felt sure the ram would fix it,you must have a faulty cpu then as you've tried 3 boards, you should be able to get a full refund for the crucial memory though if you return it within 7 days

It is rare to get a faulty cpu though, maybe if/when the first board failed it damaged your cpu? Anyway goodluck with things
