Let me find the file for you

    These should be it

    http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...ivers.com).exe

Remember there's no pre install drivers for ahci in win7,just set to ahci before os install or do reg tweak later if os installed under ide

Try this link, under rapid storage technology download the one at the top

You have to be in AHCI or RAID mode to install the Intel RST Drivers.

What port (Color and number) do you have your OS hard drive conncted to? it should be in SATAII_0 (First blue SATA port at the top, against the PCB)

Then you will want the following settings set in Integrated peripherals BIOS section, after you set the registry changes following these BIOS settings.

    Integrated Peripherals

    X58
    Intel Controller (Blue Ports)
eXtreme Hard Drive (Intel ICH10R Chipset) ........................ Disable/Auto
ICH SATA Control Mode (Intel ICH10R Chipset) ..................... AHCI (or RAID)
SATA Port0-3 Native Mode (Intel ICH10R South Bridge) ............. Enabled

Then you will want to make all of these zero, especially the IaStorV one because you want to use the Intel driver so this one must be zero as well.

Enable switching between all IDE/AHCI/RAID modes by changing "Start" Values in these keys to 0 (Win 7 / Vista ONLY)
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci\Start
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Pciide\Start
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStorV\Start

    Lsdmeasap,

I am at work at the moment but I did eventually kind of get everything to work though trial and error. I kept an excel spreadsheet of the various combinations of those 3 registry edits and the results so I systematically figured out what worked and what didnt. I was also to get my HDD assigned a letter as well. I am hoping to connect my new PC to the net sometime soon, so I can begin to send out some screens shot and the like.

Thanks again to wazza, acebmxer and LSD (not the drug) you assistance has been greatly appreciated.

    OK guys,

So its been about 6 months or so now. I took a little hiatus from trying to OC
my system until I was relatively sure that everything else was working as it should.
Then other things external to my computer took precedence for a while.

Anyway, so I started out questioning my storage configuration, its controllers, drivers excreta.
Then I thought perhaps it was the time to go ahead and update to the latest BIOS as a starting
point and then sort start over from that point.
So I updated to FH5 via @BIOS (carefully) and was successful in doing so.

Next, after seeing one for two errors in the device manager I decided I would start experimenting
with the various SATA ports, thier registry settings and thie resulting performance which you can
see from the spreadsheet I attempted to duplicated below.
I ended up with all of my connections
(SSD, HDD, eSATA ports, and Optical DVD all on ports 0-5 using the Intel ICH10R Controller.
I am not sure if this is the optimal configuration but for now it seems to work.

No DVD No DVD No DVD moved DVD to intel port3 and eSATAtoIntelport2

At this point I started to go through the overclocking process using the methodology of isolating
certain components and then testing for their max settings as shown in the "3 step overclocking
method for Bloomfield and Gulftown processors.

I will follow up with my current settings and if I am able to the steps in which I took to get there,
although I am not sure what if any value it will have for your guys understanding of my system.

    Thanks again.

Pasted below are my current BIOS setting that I am running with, please let me know what you guys think. There are a few things that I am unsure of however, the Load-line Calibration seems to have two other options, a profile 1 & 2. I am also not entirely sure I am running with the best voltage either.

I am trying to find a convienent way to post my test results and things but I have them in a spreadsheet with a lot of screen shots, so when I have more time I will post them as well.

On another note, do you guys believe that if I free up some more space of my SSD it will run much faster? I have all of my programs files in addition to my OS there and I am starting to think that I may not need them all there but just some.

Anyway, thanks again for the help so far you guys are awesome.

OK, I will try that and get back to you. I really have not messed with it at all, just followed the guide and let it go.

As far as the SSD goes, I maybe just worrying about nothing but my windows performance score are slighlty lower and my AS SSD score have decrease as well but at a much greater margin.

OK, so I lowered by CPU voltage by two steps, I believe it is 0.00675 per step so that would be a decrease of 0.01250 from 1.37500V to 1.36250V and restarted, but then I got to the logon page the cursor in the password box stopped blinking and sort of froze even though my mouse was still moving although not able to click on anything.

I restarted back into BIOS and then moved it one step back up, so I am just one step below 1.37500V and I made it back to this thread. I am going to run a few stress test and see how I make out then report back, thanks for the help.

are you using fixed cpu voltage now? or using dvid? its upto you if you want cpu to run at full speed and cpu voltage all the time or use dvid and only use full speed/voltage when cpu is under any load, light loading and at idle cpu will downclock on speed and volatges

if you want to use dvid you need to post your cpu voltage when set to normal in cpu voltage list and you current fully stable cpu/overclock voltage, then i can tell you what to type into dvid
