Question W7 crash at start up when RAID enabled in BIOS

    MOBO GA-P55-UD4 rev.1.0 F15
When enabled RAID in SATA mode Windows 7 SP1 crashes at start up. In post appears that is no AHCI BIOS installed but when is enabled AHCI mode all works fine and appears AHCI BIOS installed in post. Latest drivers already installed.
Before the reinstall of OS all works fine, maybe an incorrect selection of settings in BIOS. Any ideas?

Do you have the Intel RST Drivers and program installed? You will need to install that before you can switch to RAID from AHCI, it can't be in IDE mode to install this (Use First link)

Be sure you have your boot drive connected to SATAII_0

did you install windows while in AHCI mode, and now tring to boot in raid mode?

You either have to install windows while in raid mode or you have to make registry changes to alow you to boot in raid so you can install the drivers.

Nice to see you got it!

Sorry I didn't say anything about the registry edits, I assumed you had already done those, sorry!

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Pciide\Start
value was set to 3 indeed 0
The others two values were OK.
The Windows 7 SP1 installation was made with AHCI enabled. May be a bug of SP1?
Prior installation of Windows 7 started wiht no errors when selected RAID.

Hmm, that one shouldn't matter as that is the control for IDE mode?

Anyway, again I'm glad to hear you got this fixed!
