It supports built-in iGP, overclocable, and has SSD caching.

This is a big disappointment for me: Gigabyte's Z68X boards won't include video outputs and I'm afraid I'll have to buy the board from another company. I think I'm not the only one who wants to use both the overclocking ability and the integrated GPU. That's the purpose of the Z68 chipset. What Gigabyte did here is just rebranding of the P67 boards, the only difference is the SSD caching.

The ones meant for use like that will have video output, such as the H68X, desktop users that want to overclock don't use onboard graphics anyway so that seems pointless to add to the cost of the board since less than 1% would likely ever use it

In that case I belong to that 1% because Sandy Bridge GPU has many possible uses - QuickSync, secondary display, HDMI audio etc. Not to mention the possibility to include Lucid's Virtu. Integrated GPU and discrete GPU can be used at the same time and that's something Gigabyte is not mentioning...

So the only usable boards for me would be those H68X (if they don't have the overclocking ability disabled in the same way like Z68X has the integrated GPU disabled). I'm afraid that H68X = H67 and Z68X = P67.

Do these boards allow ocing of locked cpus? Or would you need a k series chip? I think it a waste not to include video ports,I guess its all down to marketing, and h68 ect,I don't see why there can't be just one board that does it all instead of two h68/z68

Just as P57, they allow OC of locked CPUs by +4.
Of course they can do one board that does it ALL, but why would one pay for something he don't need?
He was talking about the X models, which essentially, at least for the P67 models the difference is having SLI/CF and USB3.
BTW from what I read GB will cease making H67/P67 boards and will make only Z68 boards.

Yes I know what your saying, but seeing all sandybridge have igpu's I just think its a missed opportunity not to add a hdmi/dvi port so you could use the igp, then maybe develop bios to use that just for web browsing ect and use added gpu for gaming ect, plus the chance to add extra monitors

And what happens if your add in graphics card dies? Or is faulty/mb bios issue? You could simply switch to sandybridge graphics

Every circuit and componnent added to the board increase manufacturing costs, Thos who do not need the GPU will have boards without it and those who do not need add on graphics won't have to pay for SLI/CF (haven't seen a board with no PCI-E slot yetl).

Lucid Virtu already integrates add-on cards with the iGPU, with some performance degradation.
A main feature missing in the P57 is the Quck Sync. If Z68 boards that do not have video port will still enable using it it should be good for some people.
