    Default Question on X58A-UD5/UD7

Hey all, it appears to me that the UD5/UD7 are "similar" in just about every way. Wondering if the mosfet/ps supply around the cpu socket is the same, as it appears to use the same heatpipe cooling setup??? Only asking cause I'm looking into a full board waterblock for a UD7, and want to make sure it will work with a UD5.

Is it an ek mb block? It should tell you on their site what models it fits,or email them? I have no idea if it would fit or not,I know my mb and the extreme are the same apart from the waterblock/heatpipe,can't say for ud5a/ud7 though

The EK site says it "has no plans for a fullcover block" for the UD5 ver2....

I'd still like a "hands on" second opinion from end users....

UD5 and UD7 (both Rev. 2.0) are the exact same except for the cooling which you would remove for the full cover blocks, so you should be fine as long as you are looking at a rev 2.0 UD7 block and have a UD5 Rev. 2.0

The Rev. 1.0 UD7 and UD5 blocks are not the same, nor are the boards the same as each other, and they are also not the same as the 2.0 UD5/UD7

I am not 100% certain it will fit, but I do know for a fact the UD5 and UD7 Rev. 2.0 boards are the exact same minus the cooling solution.

The concern I had was the PWM/mosfet cooling around the cpu area...
