Default G1.Assassin help please - random flashes

    Hello,

I am putting together a new build for myself, I installed the G1.Assassin mobo into the HAF X case by Coolermaster. here is my parts list so far

    1. Gigabyte G1.Assassin Mobo
    2. CoolerMaster HAF X nvidia edition case
    3. ZALMAN ZM1000-HP 1000W Continuous PSU
    4. Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model 998770
    5. Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz CPU
    6. Ultra ChillTec Black Overclocking CPU Cooler

I will be getting my SSD next week and my GPU's 2 weeks after that

with no hdd or GPU installed I have powered up other system builds to ensure everything was going alright. on this build however when I put power to it at first I only got a solid tone from the onboard speaker, which I determined to be that the ram was not in the right slots I had the ram in the 1-2-3 slots and for this board the manual says to use 1-3-5 for just 3 sticks. Once I changed the Ram slots the solid tone went away.

now when I apply power to the board it flashes randomly first time is flashed 5 tines then shut off second time it flashed 3 times the next afer that it was once then went back up to flashing 6 times which is telling me that there is def an issue with something on the board I have unplugged everything and re connected it with the same results.

I am at a loss on what might be causing this could it be the lack of hdd and gpu causing the issue right now? or is it something more serious? when i get my SSD next week I will try using my gpu from my current pc to see if that changes it but wanted to see if the flashes might be related to something else.

any assistance with this would be appreciated

I Thank everyone for their time

It could trying to detect your gpu and rebooting ect,I would wait till you get your card and then try,it will boot up into bios without hdd but you need a gpu to see what's happening on screen,as for ram for 3 sticks its second slot from cpu socket, blank, ram, blank, ram

I agree, you really need to have a graphics card connected so you can see what, if anything, is on the screen.
