Default Issues with Gigabyte P67-UD3P-B3 and EVGA 560 ti

    Hi all,

iīll need your help with this strange issue that my friend itīs having with his new build:

    Motherboard: Gigabyte P67-UD3P-B3
    CPU: 2600K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
    Memory: 8 Gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance (4x2)
Graphics: EVGA 560 ti (not superclocked)
    PSU: Corsair 750w
    Case: Thermaltake A60

When the 560ti is installed in the PCI-E 16x slot the pc wonīt boot at all, it just starts, make some beeps and turn off. But if he installs the card in the PCI-E
4x slot the machine boots fine! He even tried installing his old EVGA 9800gtx+ in the PCI 16x slot and worked! Dou you any idea of whatīs happening with
the 560ti and the PCI 16x slot on his motherboard?

Thanks to all for your help!

Sounds like its a problem with the 560ti card. Have you tried that card in another computer?

If one card works and the other don't you suspect the card, at the x4 slot only 4 lanes active.
Need another PCIe 2.0 x16 slot to test it in.

Yes. But you said 9800+ works in the 16x slot correct?

If the 560Ti works in 16x slot on cpu2 but not in 16x slot on cpu1 then most likely cpu2 has a problm with the 16x slot.

if the 560ti does not work in 16x slot on cpu2 and does not work in 16x slot on cpu1 then video card has a problem.

Be sure you are using the latest BIOS too, to rule out any BIOS bugs.

Then I'd suggest you test that card in another PC at full PCIE lane speed so you can be sure the card is in working order.
