Your temps look pretty high, I used to get same temps on Q9550 running at 4.25 GHz. At that time I was using a Prolimatech Megahalems cooler with 2 * Akasa Viper fans.

Well, maybe this cooler is a piece of crap, I just took it down from the cpu and applied some thermaltake tg-1, before that it was even higher :\

@mm67: which cooler should I buy now? If I buy a new one, I would like to use it in my new system too, which will be i7-2600k, so it needs to be LGA1155 compatible! I was thinking about be quiet dark rock advanced or scythe mugen 2 rev. b. Or you have any better suggestions ?

And it must be a silent cooler, because it is in my room and my computer is on 24/7. It is not problem if under load I have to turn up the fans speed and it gets noisy, but in idle mode it must be quite.

    This is with stock vcore?
    Scythe Mugen 2 is huge.
See the differences between the Mugen 2 and the Performa, both are in the same case and "UD3L" board
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...tml#post386551

The mugen is quiet, the performa very loud but you can buy a quiet fan or even run push/pull with lower RPM. The performa comes with 2 sets of fan clips.
Both are in the same league and cost about the same.

hmm, I wonder why this cooler isn't perform too good in my computer, coz it is said to be the best by hexus.net ( HEXUS.net - Review :: LGA 775 CPU Cooler Mega Test : Page - 120/120 ).

I am realy not coolers expert, I just read reaviews, and only seen one of the be quiet.
Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced | bit-tech.net

Looks easy to install but very heavy, and more expensive than the Mugen 2 and performa.

Maybe the case is not well ventilated? Try with open case and room fan blowing over it.

I have a Lian-Li PC-7FN with the stock coolers. The rear 12cm ventilator is set to 861 rpm (attached to a zalman fan mate 2), the front 14cm cooler is @ 500 rpm (speed is set with speedfan to 44%).

As I removed the side of the case, the cpu temp is lowered to ~43C idle @3.33GHz from ~50-52C.

The picture you have posted show min 46c.
But more important are load temps.
What is vcore under load in CPU-Z?
