Driving strench profiles sometimes help to lower tRD, but this is BIOS dependent, you may try set them to 1066 and see if it help to lower tRD and performance are better.

Just having a look at this, and here are my thoughts:

The 800 MHz rated RAM is going to be the limiting factor in this setup for sure, but the fact that you can boot to Windows means your memory has more we can squeeze out of it. We'll just need to relax the timings a bit.

First, if you'll allow me, let me suggest that you start with a 432 x 9 clock on the 2.00 D strap. This will give you 3.88 CPU, which in real world benchmarks will be identical to 4.0 CPU. Keep voltages the same as you have already set.

Memory timings are okay at 5-5-5-15

Static tRead should be increased to 12 on both A & B channels

Try that. If still no joy, then bump DRAM voltage to 1.91V

Let us know how you get on.

Alrighty man! :) I'll definitely try that, seems like a good start. Just what I needed.

If that works, could I try bumping the cpu up to 445? (And what about setting the pci-e to 101 and that clock skew thingie to 90ps? Are those necessary?)

    Thanks again man

EDIT: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=3993830 what do you think of that? I'm still not sure whether to upgrade to the Sapph 5850 Xtreme from the GTX 260 Core 216.

EDIT2: I'm definitely thinking of getting the Sapphire HD6950 2GB now! I would just have to add another 100 euros. (Compared to the 5850 Xtreme 164$, 6950=317$) Would be a major upgrade then. I think it's worth it cause I would flash this card to a 6970 baby.

Or maybe I should wait with upgrading the card?

Outer Marker, what if those settings work though?

If they do, should I just try bumping the cpu up to 445 along with the vcore to 1.3v? And increasing the rams vcore a bit? Or we will see in the process?

I'm gonna try those things you gave me though.

    Lots of thanks. :)

Okay Outer, ran those settings, everything seems to work well, even ran a small 3dm Vantage test and recieved a couple hundred more CPU points. So currently running at 3.88GHz. What should I do now as the next step?

Thanks so far! I really feel like I'm gonna get a 4.0 stable with your help. :)

Good, Good. By my estimates, you can go as high as 438 x 9 on the CPU, taking you to 3.94 GHz. I don't think you're going to get stable beyond that, no matter what you do. At that clock, your memory is going to be begging for a wee bit of mercy.

I don't think you really ought to relax the memory timings any more, because that's only going to give you diminishing returns. CPU clock may be higher, but benchmarks may actually decrease if they are designed to show the effects of memory latency.

My advice is to try 438 x 9 at current voltages and timings. If you are stable at that point, call it a day. If you can't get to 438 x 9, don't even bother with 433, 434, 435, 436, or 437. They produce funny multiples that are hard to iron out. Looks like your current 432 is going to do it.

    Hope that helps.

Hmm alright man, but can't I really get to 4.0 if increasing vcore to 1.3v along with some other things (memory things)? I could always just increase the voltage of the memory right? (It's rated 5-5-5-12 @ 1.8v) Cause it's hard to believe my memory won't do anymore man.

I'll test the next step you gave me also.

But I find it strange, because I should be able to reach 4.0 with increasing the vcore to 1.3v among other things, because 4.0 worked with 1.3v and your 3.83 stable settings (all I did was increase vcore), but it eventually crashed after playing a while (and I also didn't seem to notice any change from 3.83 to 4.0, because Vantage gave me the same points, so something must've acted as a diminishing return or something), so there must be something we can still change right?

    Lots of thanks though man!

EDIT: tried your settings with 438 fsb@3.94ghz, works wonders, recieved another couple hundred points (like 800 points) in 3dm Vantage, I'm going for now, I'll leave Orthos@blend running for a couple of hours. I'll let you know!

EDIT2: Ran Orthos@blend@priority 9 for 1 hours and 7 minutes, recieved no warnings or errors. So I should be able to get 4.0 with a little vcore and ram voltage increase?

For 4GHz your memory need to be at 900.
To isolate other settings, back off your clock to 375 with SMM 2.40B, Statiuc tRead 9-8, and run some stress tests.
One hour is not much. Run customized Prime95 blend torture, min FFT 128k and 6 minutes for each test for at least 2-3 hours, if it pass than 4GHz may be possible.
