Default What is the reason for my trouble??

I have just got a new case-HAF-X and i replaced all the stuff into my new case. When i started it, after it said "DETECTING THE RAM SIZE", it restarted over and over again. Then i removed all the rams and put it back, it started normally. But as soon as i restarted the windows manually, it again came out with the same "DETECTING THE RAM SIZE" problem. To try out if the problem was about the rams, i tested them one by one, and IT WAS OKAY. But when i used the third slot out of (1,3,5 white slots) ,it gave me the same restart problem while saying DETECTING RAM SIZE. Later i avoided using third slot, it was okay again. I used the pc a while like that. After some time, i tried the 1,3,5 slots with no problem saying Detecting Ram Size, yet it said that usable ram size was 4gbs that was what included in BIOS infos. WHen i right clicked and looked at the information about pc, it said that there were 6gbs ram but the usable is 4gbs. In CPU-Z and Easy Tune, ram size is confirmed as 6gbs.

I had no problems in my previous case but is there any possibility that something was done wrong while i removed all the stuff and put into my new case, like bending the cpu pin?

Did the mb flex at all? You should see full 6144mb in the bios if all your memory is detected, ignore all other software, did you remove the cpu when you switched cases? Try fully clearing cmos by removing mb battery for 30 mins

What do you mean by "mb flex" and yes i removed all the stuff including the cpu when i switched the cases. I took the mb battery out for 5 or 10mins but not 30mins, I thought that it was enough.

Also recently happened that when the bios was in FA version , I put the rams in 1,3,5 slots and 4gbs were recognized but in FF version i put the rams in 1,3,5 slots it said " DETECTING RAM SIZE" and it shut down. However when changed sockets 1,4,5 in FF version, it recognized 6gbs but worked in DUAL CHANNEL not triple as expected.

If the motherboard flexes/bends too much it can damage the copper traces from the cpu to your ram,I don't think its that though,I think you have a damaged/bent cpu socket pin, carefully inspect for any bent pins and post pics if you can,if any are bent, even slightly,it will cause missing memory as the integrated memory controller is inside the cpu

Thanks for sharing the ideas, i also think that the problem is what you mention but i got this mb in U.S and no warranty is valid in Turkey. I dont know how to fix it or does it require any additional labour to fix. Do i have to change the whole thing or can i just replace the damaged pins? What do u suggest?

You can straighten it yourself if your very carefull,a tiny sewing needle and a steady hand would do it,only other way is to rma it back to gigabyte for repair, they might charge you or not,it depends

Yes, there is several bent pins there, this is the problem for sure!

You will have to try and fix, or RMA
