Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked. Adding a delay did nothing as I get the Winload.exe error message. I also reflashed using the Qflash accessed directly and with rebuild of the DMI Pool and that did not help. Finally tried removing all the other drives and I still get the same error. The only way to boot has been to put my RAID array in 3rd position with two non bootable drive in front of it in which case. Windows loads fine...

I would Contact either gigabyte support and email them telling them your complete setup and everything you have done and maybe they can look into the bios and make a change for you. Or you may want to contact the people who make your raid card maybe their is a bios update for it to help with this problem.

OMG. after literally months of the same issue, probably 30 different bioses, sending my raid card to gigabyte(nothing, my card was "bad"), and this is the stupid fix. BTW I have an ud3r and a hp p400. In my situation I was trying to boot off of a usb key to esx. I just removed all hdds from the boot order.

I will post this in other forums where people are having very similar gigabyte x58 issues

    gigabyte...fix your s#*t

I now have this board but sorry to say I do not have this raid card. After looking though this thread all over again I really dont have much else to add except there is a newer bios out now F5c.

maybe I wasnt clear, it actaully fixed my problem. I am just upset that gigabyte cant get their act together. mine was exibiting the same behivor would just hang after dmi pool. after this "fix" everything is working great. before if I had the raid card in, f12 no keybord response, bios no keyboard response, p400 raid option rom bios would work, but hang after dmi pool. somthing so simple as boot order shouldnt effect the board this way. its working for me now, several reboots. but now I am scared to touch anything, now that I finally have my hex core running after 8 months of nothing
