    Default GIGABYTE P67-UD3-B3 + GSKILL 2x (2x2GB 1600Mhz F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM)

    Hi,

    my spec is:
    i7-2600K Sandy Bridge
    GIGABYTE P67-UD3-B3
    GSKILL 2x (2x2GB F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM)
    AMD Radeon 6950 HD 2GB
    Corsair GS 700W Series

    OS:
    Windows 7 64bit.

I updated the BIOS to F4 - I got sick of BSODs in F3 so I did that.
After update using Qflash, I entered BIOS and Enabled Load Optimized Settings.

    * My RAM Frequency is still 1330Mhz, how do I change it? do I need to change it?
is it the DRAM voltage( it is set to 1500 so I don't think so!)... what about CPU voltage? what should I set it to?

    * Got any idea about the recommended BIOS settings for the combination of the spec?

    I get lots of BSODs.

    Looking forward for your help,
    Thanks.

Try first to increase VTT gradually, up to 1.2v.
G.Skill memory usually has EPP/XMP so if you have it just select the desired XMP profile.
Keep in mind that those settings are for one 2x2GB kit, so you may need to increase DRAM Voltage abit above the memory specs, or loosen timings.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply

    * VTT = 1.050V.

    * what do you mean the desired XMP profile? I have two options: disabled (it is now) and profile1?

DRAM voltage is set to 1.500 and the memory Frequency is 1330Mhz... how come?
you said increasing it, what is a bit? and how is this related to Memory Frequency?

    ***NOTE***
am running Memtest86 and it seems fine, but the following is written:
    Settings : RAM 649 Mhz (DDR3-1299) / CAS : 9-9-9-24 / Dual Channel.

But my Gskill is CL7-8-7-24 1600Mhz DDR3, any thing wrong out there?

Sorry I am kinda a noob, but I would really appreciate your help am dying alive try to fix this.

    Thanks!

Find spd system memory multiplier and change it until you can get as close to 1600mhz,try with 1.080v or 1.1v qpi/vtt voltage, remember your cpu multiplier affects what ram speed you can set with spd memory multiplier
Change ram timings from auto to manual then select quick and type in your rams timings,if you read your mb manual it explains everything on how to set your ram speed and timings,it explains every bios setting

Sometimes there is more than just one profile, set profile1 then.
memtest86 or memtest96+? (+ is recommended) Either way they are not much of a stress for the memory.
Run Prime95 blend torture instead. You can customize with 128k min FFT, and 8-10 minutes for each test, but make sure you always repeat tests with the same values.

    * means I may need to change CPU multiplier settings also?
    * is spd multiplier and vtt the same thing or what? what is spd?

last question, memtest86 is showing a different CAS (9-9-9-24 but mine is 7-8-7-24) do I have to change anything?

    sorry for stupid questions :)

Chike I ran memtest86+ for 30 hours and all the Prime95 (blend, small long fft tests) for about 3-4 hours each one, no errors - but still I get BSOD.

might be BIOS settings? I am very newbie when it comes to BIOS settings.

memtest86 shows the current applied settings.
Just select XMP profile1, and VTT a step or two above 1.05, and keep increasing it, but not more than 1.2v if needed for stability.

It's probably not enough qpi/vtt voltage that's causing bsods, spd system memory multiplier is what you set your memory speed with,if you change timings from auto 9.9.9.24 to manual/quick 7.8.7.24 then save it it will use those timings you typed in,and yes you may need to alter cpu multi to select 1600mhz ram speed but for now concentrate on getting it stable

    Hi,

    I set XMP profile1 and VTT 1.080v , now Frequency is 1600Mhz.

P.S: Vcore is still 1.245, do I have to change anything else rather than XMP and VTT?

I will update you if I get more BSODs
    Thank you
