Guys,

Thanks for all the help.

Update:

1) I ran Memtest overnight (@ 8hours) and found no errors.
2) The problem first occured during a game of CIV I, and carried over into BLack OP. However, since then I rebooted the machine. The problem is isolated to CIV. Maybe I have some kind of corrupted DX dll file or something.

Is tRFC still at 52? Have you tried it with auto?

What are the CoreTemp readings for all four cores?
Do you have CoreTemp logging enabled?
If yes, have you checked the CoreTemp log file?

What is the ambient temperature where your computer is located?

tRFC in the low 50's is often OK with 1066MHz and 4GB of memory. The SPD EPP#2 programming default is 71 for your 4GB memory.
Other than Memtest86+, what other stress tests have you run and for how long? IntelBurnTest (IBT)? LinX? Prime95? OCCT?
You should post your core temps when running 5 - 10 loops of IBT or LinX using the maximum amount of available memory, usually 2048 - 2072MB where the core temps in the low to mid 60 degree range indicate that your cooling setup is fine when ambient temperatures are in the 19 - 23 degree range. Core temps during these tests lower than 70 (C) are fine.

Have you searched the web for links to high core temperatures while running Civ IV?

When posting Memset information, it's best to click the SPD tab to display settings for both memory channels where you can verify that each memory channel has identical settings, especially Performance Level (aka tRD or Static tRead value).

Setting your memory to run at 802MHz with 4-4-4-10/12 primary memory timings should be stable with the 2.00B or 2.00D System memory multiplier. tRD = 6 with the 2.00B might be stable. With Cpu Host Frequency in the low to mid 400MHz range, using the B-memory multiplier can often be used with tRD one step lower (tighter) than the stable tRD value required with the D-memory multiplier. Some find that it's easier to get stable settings with the D-memory multiplier. tRD = 7 with the 2.66D memory multiplier might be too tight even though your overnight Memtest86+ run was error free.

Removing and reinstalling Civ IV might help if this is the only game that causes higher cpu core temperatures.

Note: with 4-4-4-1x memory timings at 802MHz, your memory benchmark scores will be lower, but it's unlikely that you'll notice any decrease with application or gaming performance. In some cases there might be slightly better performance.

CIV I ? are u running it under dosbox or do you mean like CIV IV or V.

CIV 4 you really need all the latest patches and even then ,sound isnt great(for me)
CiV 5 I havent bothered with because of the "software verification" problems and the "its CiV for dummies" reviews.
Havent tried black ops ,but Ive nps with steam for single player CoDmw2,except there arent many pc players online.

Chike,

There is no AUTO setting for these values- It is asking me for a number. I will bump up to 60 and see what that does.

Everyone else- I will probably re-install the game or maybe just upgrade to CIV V at this point.

Zero will set it to auto, or try 66 and up.

Chike,

Maybe I'm reading these wrong, but here is my MaxMem2 with tRFC at Auto:

Here it is with All Advanced Timings at AUTO:

GA-EP45-DS3R & Q9450 Overheating-maxxmem2_j0324-auto-jpg

Don't I want Blue/Green/Red to be as high as possible with Gold being as low as possible? with all Advanced Timing Controls at Auto- It seems like memory is slowest. Right?

This includes Static tRead Value? That you can leave as it was.
Any improvement, or it still fail the same?
