    Question P67A-UD4-B3 makes "2 Initial sounds" at start.

    HI... I have a P67A-UD4-B3 motherboard , Updated to the latest BIOS.
    The situation is when after pressing the power button to start computer at that moment the computer produces ( to say ) "2 mechanical noises" don't know how to express it with words but they sound something like ( trr-trr) , then after that the normal Beep of post.

    Is this a Normal start Noise for this model of Motherboard?
    or something is not ok..?

    Thank you.

    I just build the system

    You need to attach a mb speaker for any beeps as they don't come with one,as for the sounds your hearing is it like a click sound? Or whine followed by a loud click? If so then its the power phases,the relays store power then release it and that's the click your hearing,my mb does this

    @Chike
    mmmm...That's an Idea, I 'll try it later.
    what do you think about that wazza300 to disconnect the hard drives did that would help?

    @wazza300
    Yes I have the black speaker lil thingi that goes connected to the motherboard for the Beep boots codes.
    and Yes it's kind of like a weird sound , like lil robot making like (Click preep prooop Click ) ! sort of mechanical but robotic.
    It's short lil fast 2 sound, then the sound of Beep post and the system is OK but I was worry I did somethign wrong or the motherboard was going Kaput

    So. If ther's nothing to worry ,GOOD !!

    Just in case..... Is ther a way to avoid it.... (fix)...... In case not.... NP. I can live just knowing all is ok and it's nothing to harm the system or telling me........ I'm going to crash !

    Yes it could be your hard drives too,they have power saving features built in that cause clicks and noises but its nothing to worry about,you could run chkdisk on your hard drives for any errors or enable smart in the BIOS if your drives support it,then it will monitor and report any hdd problems

    So any update on this noise? I'd think it would be the HD's too, or maybe some other device possibly as well, before I'd consider the board as the source

    Hi I'm back.

    I tried without the H.D's and the noise was still there, so I notice the sound coming from the DVD drive, so I unplugged and start computer and the noise was gone.

    My DVD drive it's a ASUS model DRW-24B1ST -a connected ATA Device
    The driver version as Info. of my system in device manager ;
    Microsoft 6.1.760.1.17514

    I tried to update the Firmware from Disc Installation , so it send me to ASUS Official site .
    I type the model and O.S. this is the model ;
    http://ca.asus.com/en/Optical_Storag...ive/DRW24B1ST/

    and found one file under this name: ASUS DRW-24B1ST Firmware v1.03 (2010.02.09 update)

    There's 2 exes. inside the Zip folder.
    1.- ASUSDOS exe.
    2.- ASUSWIN (firmware Updater) exe.
    ----------

    The weird Problem it's now that when I tried to use the "ASUSWIN" , I received an error saying:

    No Matched drive detected, this utility is only for ASUS DRW-24B1st drive ?
    Detected drives:
    2-000 G:
    2-010 F:

    -----------

    Trying using ASUSDOS, display a message saying that my O.S. it's NOT compatible with the application ASUSDOS ?

    -----------

    I select the correct O.S. and Model of DRW. but receiving this error messages?

    The DVD is as Slave and the 2 HD's as Master.

    This thing is fast, but is very loud on startup(loud sound like an old P4 system starting up).
