Default x58a-ud3r rev2 BSoD, failing memtest86+, minidump included

    Hi All,

I've been having some problems with my computer recently. Seems like once every week or so, it will BSoD while I'm playing starcraft 2. I used windows 7 debug tools and debugwiz to analyze the minidump but it doesn't make much sense to me. I also downloaded memtest86+. When I have all 3 sticks of ram installed, it'll fail. I labeled each stick, 1, 2, and 3. Each stick passes memtest individually (multiple cycles), also tested each stick in all 3 white slots. When sticks 1 and 2 are installed it passes. When sticks 1 and 3 are it fails. When sticks 2 and 3 are it fails. Which leads me to believe stick 3 is bad even though it'll pass when it's the only one in there. I updated the bios to FG1, newest nvidia drivers and still the same results.

Attacked is the .txt file from the last minidump analysis (after nvidia driver update, but before bios update). I just want to make sure that it's the ram, not the mobo, drivers, ect before buying new.

PC components are in my sig.

    Thanks for all the help!

Tripple channel configuration is slots 1, 3, 5.
    Dual with 2 modules slots 1, 3.
Is memory set to run at DDR-1600 CL 7 or is it running at default lower frequency.
You probably need more QPI/VTT, try increasing gradually up to 1.35v.

Can you please attach a text dump of CPU-Z?

First what is the bsod error code that you are getting? See link in my sig for list of bsod error codes.

If stick 3 is the only stick giving problems working with the others I would believe it would be a bad stick also. Post a screen shot of ET6 or list your bios settings. Like chike said could be low qpi/vtt.

I'll check CPU-z when I get home tonight. Everything is completely stock settings from the bios, no overclock. Ram is at 9-9-9-27 @ 1333 with stock voltages also. I think the BSoD is a 1A error? I don't really know how to read that text file. When I say the ram is failing, I'm talking about failing memtest86+. It usually fails test 5 and always fails test 6.It'll fail memtest when the stick I labeled #3 is used whether it be in triple channel or dual channel. Also putting them in DIMM_1 , 3, and 5 only. Thanks for the responses

    I believe it's 1A(MEMORY_MANAGEMENT)

    What is the layout you tested modules 1 & 2, and 1 & 3?

You should manually set dram voltage according to your ram(it will be printed on the ram module) either 1.5v or 1.66v,then set qpi/vtt voltage to anything between 1.3v to 1.35v even at stock clocks

Ram should be in white slots only,

XMP profile VTT is 1.2v so you can start with this if you haven't already.

I agree, set some voltages first and then test again.

Be sure you are using the latest version of Memtest86+, you can get it here
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

If you still have issues with stick 3 after setting voltages, even if it tests fine by itself, I'd go ahead and RMA the set
