    Default GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD

I'm looking at this motherboard for my next upgrade specifically because of the on board SSD and Intel SRT. I have a removable drive setup (not dual boot) so that I can load win7 or XP by simply swapping out the drives - all other hardware stays the same.

Will Intel SRT work with a setup like this or will the SSD caching of one system (Win7) interfere with the caching of the other (XP) when I swap the drives? I have searched the net and cannot find anyone else who has asked, or answered, this question.

Not sure about that but I can't see how it would affect things,it just like choosing which OS to boot into by pressing f12 at splash screen, surely they have taken into account multi os/hdd's ect when designing this?

I'd think since the SSD is small, the cached files would not leave enough room on the drive, and they also may not split up per system like a normal dual boot setup.

I think you're best bet in trying to use this board like that, would be to get both OS onto one hard drive at the very least and even then it may or may not be problematic

Thanks for the reply wazza & lsd. You would think, as wazza said, they would have taken into account users who dual boot or swap drives - but maybe not. I guess the question is still open. If I can't find out for sure then I see no reason to change to the Z68 platform.

lsd - I really don't want to dual boot, I prefer to swap out drives, but thanks for the suggestion.
